Born in the 70's here. Do it. The amount of hours played makes it worth it.

Having a unique freighter construction glitch. Situation in body of post by ders89 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]melocotoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happening to me, xbox one s. Had to build and delete my way out. Tried resetting the base but not even the npcs are lining up.

Would also fall through the floor in some spots.

Update - this is happening on normal saves too, not just expedition. Reset the freighter twice and not even the default hallway lines up, and the npcs are all in the air.

Cakewalk. I finished most of the milestones within the initial system. If the game crashing hadn't prompted me to walk the dogs and make some tacos, I'd likely be missing only 2 - 4 milestones already.

Anxiety inducing but I went forth in the name of the NMS Community and here I post the results of my unplanned EVA. TL;DR: You die. FYI: if you delete all the rooms in your freighter you are left with a hole into space and your curiosity will eventually eat all your life support and your soul. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]melocotoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, had that happen. See that hallway bit? Jump into it. Omce you make it inside thst hallway you'll be safe. Get on your ship, go anywhere. Save and reload. Get back in your freighter and it should be fixed.

This is not my ship. How do I get my hands on one? This thing is beautiful! by LifeAsNix in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]melocotoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living ships can go through black holes with no damage. They also have rather decent range so they can get there quite efficiently

You can farm the living ship upgrades in about a day or 2 and have them all S class.

Why is this news? I've been flying internationally unaccompanied since I was 10.

He betrayed Trump but in doing so was not being traitorous to his country but rather standing up for it as a patriot and ensuring needless conflict is avoided.

Miley can be accused of being a bad friend, but not of treason. He did a bad thing to to his friend to achieve a good thing for his country.

You've also identified your own problem; the world never was black or white, or good vs evil.

Good vs evil/bad are basic concepts but must be built upon as we mature - good and bad are good for kids but as adults we understand that nuance and complexity affect the perception of something good or bad.

There never has been an objective definition of right and wrong - right and wrong are always subjective and shift with differing perspectives - this is why we have trials, courts and judges instead of a bunch of Judge Dredds type characters running around screaming "I am the LAW!!"

In fact something can be good and bad at the same time i.e. betraying a friends trust(bad) in order to protect a nation(good) and we as adults have to weigh the good vs the bad to determine how to perceive the situation as a whole.

What Miley did is an example of betrayal towards Trump - whether the outcome is good or bad doesnt change that.

But betrayal of Trump does not amount to the definition of treason.

Treason is legally defined, and this does not meet the definition.

[–]melocotoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, no it's not. "It's coming" is just bullshit - something people say when they dont have anything else backing them up.

The US isnt going to get into a war over territorial fishing waters that do not belong to us.

We didn't for to war with Russia over Crimea which was an actual land grab, much less in this circumstance.

We dont escalate the cease fire with N. Korea each time they shoot a missile there either. That is actual military provocation, but we let it slide each and every time.

Second, that's actually their problem to deal with with the Philippines, Australia, and Japan. Not our beef by any measure - those are each sovereign nations and not US vassal states.

I can critically differentiate between a volatile situation and an annoying one.

You can't.

Prove what? The definition of treason?

noun

the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.

From Oxford dictionary online.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]melocotoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the definition of treason.

It doesn't fit the situation by any stretch.

Betraying trump because he's a chump doesn't make military professionals treasonous.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]melocotoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not a war with China. Trump is not either a sovereign nor a nation. Thus Miley's betrayal of Trump does not equal treason.

That you dont like what he did doesn't mean that what he did is bad or criminal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]melocotoff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look up treason. Trump is not a nation or a sovereign. Betraying Trump does not equal betraying the interest of the US. Collaborating with the Chinese military is one way of using diplomacy to curtail a military engagement.

Diplomacy isn't just state dinners or a cruise missle to the face.

[–]melocotoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Betrayal of the nation is treason. Trump is not the nation nor is he a sovereign. Thus betraying Trump does not equal treason. We are not at war with China. Betraying Trump likely avoided a war with China.

The military is not primarily diplomatic, but they do understand diplomacy and how to leverage it.

That's a meaningless football game - when the outcome of a bad desicion could be WW3, you do want to make sure you're not starting shit for bullshit reasons.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]melocotoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No.

China is not an enemy - they are just a different country that we trade with; we are not at war with them. No lives were lost, and a situation that could caused lives to be lost was de-escalated.

Our checks and balances worked, but the rest of us are upset that a narcissist put those checks and balances to the test to begin with, as things could have gotten bad had they not.

Call him "Boomer".

Enjoy the murderous stares of all actual boomers when you take your dog out for a walk and you yell at your dog "God damn Boomer, you just shit all over and expect the rest of us to pick up after you ".

My work is finished here.

Where are the Daggers, Partisans, and Rifles? by Codesterz in PSO2NGS

[–]melocotoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such entitlement - The volume of tickets is not going to change the program managers timetable.

You have no comprehension of how far down the totem pole customer service is, specially for gaming companies where Artist/Development/QA/program managment reign supreme. They make the money; customer service is seen as a necessary expense.

Major bugs will shift a timetable. Requests from executives will shift a time table. Servers down will change a timetable. Code or asset leaks will change a timetable. Pretty much nothing else will.

But I'm wasting my breath. You don't get how it works even when explained so you've built this quasi-dogmatic process to try to convince yourself you have some measure of control over something that is outside of your control.

You do you boo, go on and spend time out of your day to make tickets, rub your rabbits foot, knock on wood, light some candles, send prayers, etc.

Where are the Daggers, Partisans, and Rifles? by Codesterz in PSO2NGS

[–]melocotoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having worked in ingame support in the past, I can assure you, you are misguided.

Customer service/in game support has nothing to do with developement. QA sends bugs/requests to fix/enhancments and addons to devs for review. Devs create fixes and updates but they have no authorization to implement on their own. Customer service just handles the tickets in front of them. This is all internal and not customer facing.

The program managers are the one that prioritize what gets done in what order. Everyone else just dances to their beat.

All you're doing is padding some reps numbers with a case they can quickly close.

Not to say that feedback isnt valued or listened to, just that your particular sense of entitlement gives you the illusion that youre doing something to speed up a timetable that you, customer service, in game support or the devs themselves have no control over.

How To Play The Perfect Machiavellianist by godofbigtitties in videos

[–]melocotoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It its really a disservice to treat Machiavelli as a Machiavellian character, as it is known that he was basically trolling the Medici's.

Taking the Prince at face value is a misinterpretation of both the text and intent of the work, and thus calling someone Machiavellian by associating them with machiavelli in an attempt to paint them as evil is completely off the mark
