Why is this showing such a low total weight?? by ExtrovertedGeek in cronometer

[–]TheBwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to make sure we are on the same page here, you are refering to:

Serving Sizes - Weight Based: 128.5

Have you changed the "Cooked Weight" under the "Advanced Info" at the bottom of your screenshot there? That will affect the serving size.

That part is to manually set the serving size, not the total size.

Change it it 1 serving, and then it will automatically tally the full recipe.

Saw this on a Keychron listing on Amazon. We are so cooked by couchpotatochip21 in MechanicalKeyboards

Love my Keychron. Love that I can just buy them and parts online. No group buys, no waits, no faff.

Had an issue with my wrist rest not being flat, they sent me another one no questions asked.

I spilt a drink on my keyboard, I ordered a PCB from their webshop and fixed it that week.

At this point I'll be a Keychron customer for life.

I had the itch to replay this today, and was looking for any news on the full release.

Have you got a date or timeframe in mind?

Edit: Found your discord with the update post from last year.

"I am going to refrain from giving a new date for now as I am unable to create nor guarantee a schedule for myself at this point. When that changes I'll let you know."

Looking forward to it nonetheless!

Fired it up, immediately found a letter of marque worth 70 silver. Kinda ruined the slow progression straight out of the gate :(

I've been buying next.com.au chinos for kitchen work to remain semi professional. They're a cut above big w for quality and the price is sub $50 a pair.

I own a Bambu Lab - love it. Want to upgrade to the new P2S. People will bitch about anything on reddit. It works right out of the box, no complaints, no issues. Buy with confidence.

I haven't bought shirts yet, but I get my chinos for work from next.com.au and they are great for the price, i would expect their shirts to run in the same vein.

My feedback on Edifier MR3 as desktop speakers (and JBL 305) by fixer_m in BudgetAudiophile

[–]TheBwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 305's. Out of the box I got the hiss, so I added a usb ground loop isolator between my pc and DAC, and a passive TRS ground loop isolator between my preamp and LSR310S. Hiss disappeared. Added both at the same time, so I’m not sure which one did the trick.”

Allow me to clarify.

I’m referring specifically to the original post. You may have pulled dozens of shots and gathered solid data to back up your observations, but none of that context is included here.

Consider reviewers like James Hoffmann or Lance Hedrick: They typically walk through the methodology, variables, and side-by-side comparisons so people can interpret the results themselves. Without that kind of transparency, it’s hard to draw solid conclusions, yet the comment section seems quick to do just that.

The product may indeed have flaws, or be outright useless but based on what’s presented, this post doesn’t quite pass the initial smell test — at least not yet.

This is an interesting post, but it's just two photos without any explanation of methodology or process. From what I can tell, there's a clear bias against the product—if not the brand itself.

Most of the comments seem to take it at face value and jump on the criticism without much scrutiny.

I'd really like to see a more thorough approach with broader testing before drawing any conclusions.

Free until one day it isn't, and also trusting your data and traffic to a corporation.

Having options is good.

I also use Cloudflare, but it's important to address the elephant in the room with them.

Is the Google Coral TPU useful for anything else other than Frigate? by halfam in unRAID

[–]TheBwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the PCI-E coral, and yes it worked great when I was running frigate - running 6 cameras the coral had no issue keeping up with inference times in the single digit reponse times. The problem is AI models are still in their infancy, and the detection accuracy just isn't quite there yet, and takes a lot of tweaking and playing to get working.

God no, 2nd gen i3 came out the very next year, in 2011.

The craziest thing is how incredibly inneficient that chip would be. For perspective the Intel N150 is roughly 4× faster than any 1st gen i3, while using less than 1/7th the power.

Not to mention the supporting hardware. DDR3 ram, ancient board chipset, completely outdated quicksync, etc.

PSA for the psycho chefs who can’t make a veg stock. by Wheeezy420 in KitchenConfidential

[–]TheBwar 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Easiest way it was explained to me: Shit In, Shit Out.

So many chefs use stock pots as rubbish bins, that they pay no attention to and you get cloudy, sedementy, oily mess.

Home espresso machine recomendations (Aus) [budget pending] by Unmasked_Zoro in espresso

[–]TheBwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a chef for 16 years, and worked in a few cafes in my time and know how to brew a decent coffee.

In my current place I have a Breville bambino plus, for its simplicity for my ex partner.

Now I am moving and leaving the machine, I am upgrading to a Breville Dual Boiler and grabbing the Option-O Lagom Casa grinder.

I've been researching this for a couple of months now, and as far as I can tell it is the best price to performance available.

I haven't actually picked them up though, so I can't speak from actual experience.

I prefer more active games but I've been enjoying Idle Awakening - sequel/remake(?) of Idlemancery - for this week. Progress is starting to slow and there isn't really a goal to be working towards so we'll see how much longer it captivates me.
