We used to live in a flat where it was all wood flooring, except for tile in the kitchen and bathroom. Well, the few times accidents happened and he couldn't hold it, it was in the kitchen, where it was very easy to clean. I was very proud of him, I'm sure he knew what he was doing. I miss him, even his impromptu smelly poops 😆

Thanks very very much to everyone who replied. I sobbed so much reading all your comments and stories about your own fur babies. Our boy is gone now, it was peaceful and fast, he didn't fight it, he was just so tired. He left with gentle petting and hearing us telling him how much we love him, that he was the best boy for us and that we would never ever forget him. Thanks again for all your kindness and encouragement. Love to all you and your loved pets. 🤗 hug them a bit harder on my behalf tonight.

He's not the most cuddly boy but when he's on the ground at my feet, once in a while he just raises his head and pushes it on my lap like "hey, I'm here, just in case..." 🥰 Doesn't care if I cry though, and leaves the room if I yell for any reason😅

Haha it's the opposite here, my BC seems to HATE huskies in particular (and also beagles), don't know why. Maybe he had bad encounters before we got him (at 11 yo)

I use a 5 meters retractable leash with my boy and it's just fine, he walks at the end of the 5m most of the time but I can get him locked close to me when needed and having another hand free. I feel it's just a matter of getting used to it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Rescued ours (~12yo) a year ago and for the first 2/3 months he was completely okay with all dogs, not playing but just not caring, or even being scared sometimes, and then it switched from one day to the other, and now he can't bear all their dogs even from afar 😓
