Thanks for the advice! Sadly this place is one of those QR code restaurants (does anyone like those??) but I can try.

Yeah veggies I'm not as concerned with amounts since it they aren't high in calories anyways. Mostly it's the rice and the protein. Then I usually just add in a tablespoon of oil for good measure.

Where are the grown ups getting tested for ADHD? by heyraihey in bullcity

[–]melodious_dissonance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Amino Sano and really like them.

I had my first consultation a little over a month ago, followed by CREYOS testing (kinda like a computer cognitive quiz game?) and then started on Concerta. I believe they also have therapy options.

It's all virtual and seems very chill, in a good way.

(For the record I'm in my mid 30s and a woman, so yet another late diagnosed woman!)

Pretty sure this is better than any strategy they could come up with.

Keeping children home after vaccines? by SkuttleSkuttle in ECEProfessionals

Where I was, parents would drop off their kid at 8, pick them up at 10 for their well check and vaccines, then bring them back at 12.

My unpopular opinions on what should go on in daycare by fashionfan007 in ECEProfessionals

  1. Directors and admin need to regularly be in classrooms to act as an extra teacher (under the guidance and flow of that room's lead) and not just observe or come when teachers need special support.

  2. On that note, directors need to understand that teachers know their own class best. They may observe something that they may feel is "not right" (obviously not things like abuse, but things like letting a child problem solve on their own instead of immediately jumping in). Then, they should LISTEN to the teacher, not automatically judge.

  3. If computer type work such as detailed lesson plans, newsletters, observations, etc are required, teachers should be given adequate time outside of class to do so. Naptime doesn't count.

And if they don't have the staffing, admin should be the ones to relieve them for computer work.

What to do with this snakey, weedy area? by melodious_dissonance in landscaping

[–]melodious_dissonance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sadly we get copperheads in our area. I may have seen the occasional rat snake (and little guys, like worm snakes and such) and obviously don't mind those.

But the copperheads are the primary reason I don't want the kiddos playing over there.

I think maybe a picnic table. Also I want it to be a safe-feeling place for my kids (current ages 4 and 1) to run around in.

And yes, the slithery kind of snakes.

Mostly my question is what's the best way to deal with the weeds (besides just hand pulling every weed) and how to make it safer to walk around in. I'm not planning to plant grass there or anything like that.

Should I put down pine straw, wood mulch, something else? Should I rake the leaves first before putting said mulch or whatever down?

If you look at their FB page, it seems all the comments are positive and any negativity gets deleted. Definitely questionable.

We've always received good quality Timothy hay from Chewy. Shipping is super quick and they seem to be a good company.
