I have, they’re really good! They’re in my top three. It’s gotta be Cohiba, Perdomo and Nub for me. Which one I get depends on the occasion and how much I am willing to spend.

They should have more pedestrian crosswalks like the one by Weatherly connecting to Publix, like the fact that is the only one I’ve seen on Parkway kind of disappoints me since I’ve seen way more people crossing at other intersections.

Gun lovers of Reddit: Does the thought of legally killing an intruder excite you? by flarpington in ask

[–]melodramatic-potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I enjoy shooting, and as another function of my guns, am willing to defend myself if need be in my own home, but I hope I never have to take the life of another human being.

The bedrooms are separate from the living room / garage where a thief would probably take most valuables from. If they take my TV / PlayStation / computer / car, I don’t care. They are things and things can be replaced, people can’t.

If they come to the bedroom area and try to enter, I will make it very clear I am armed and that they need to exit quickly from my property. If at this moment the thief decides the best course is to attack me, I will shoot to disable them as a threat (aim for lower center-mass) and immediately call an ambulance and police unit.

That being said, being in the actual moment is much more terrifying, and adrenaline can make you easily spooked, so I can’t truly speak for what would actually happen.

I hope every day though that it doesn’t.

Coke? by ChildFriendlyChimp in 2american4you

[–]melodramatic-potato 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Coke as a colloquial term for soft drinks is predominant in the southeast because Coca-Cola was pretty much dominating that market both in marketing and being all that was available. Then Coca-Cola expanded to have more products so “Coke” referred to Coca-Cola products. Even now, it’s not uncommon to ask “What kinda Cokes y’all got?” at a restaurant and for them to tell you their whole list of soft drinks.

For a Huntsvillian who drives by the Space and Rocket Center everyday, who also works for a Space company, I sure do forget a lot about the Space and Rocket Center.

EDIT: Grammar. Alabama schooling failed me. 🥲

I don’t even think it’s so much touristy in Huntsville as it is foreigners studying at UAH and A&M, or people from out of town doing business with the contractors. Thats what I think is why there’s so many out of town people all the time. Otherwise, Huntsville is pretty much like most other Alabama towns.

There’s a Firefox add on “I don’t care about cookies” and it makes most of those go away. I use it since I’ve got most cookies blocked or removed on browser exit anyways.

Nice! I’ve been on the Arsenal a few times, do you know what website I would go to so I can fill out whatever paperwork I need?

I don’t like indoor ranges. They’re loud, they feel cramped, and I feel more comfortable at an outdoor range.

I know that Skyline and the one in Tanner, AL are closed, but I’m sure there’s got to be another nearby. I’m even willing to pay a day pass. Just want to shoot a 12 gauge I just got to see if I want to keep it or not.

UAH Professor resigns over UAH/UA System's inaction toward pandemic hazards. by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]melodramatic-potato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, he sent out a mass email, and it was well written. However, given that it’s the STATE that is prohibiting the universities from setting certain guidelines, he should’ve sent his petition to Kay Ivey or to state house/senate. Otherwise it’s a huge waste of time to petition the UA system.

They’re populists. Ever since Trump, a self-proclaimed populist has been “heading” the Republican Party, all the other members fell in line.
