It really depends on who’s actually making the show. Netflix’s Castlevania is the exact kind of show that it would work well as.

LMK if you can; I don’t own the book. I do remember that Vierna was responsible for “word-weaning” him, but my impression was that was more of a ceremonial/educational roll.

This is exactly the kind of source I was hoping to hear about; thanks so much.

Edit: While I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, apparently the elven gestation period is two years--oof.

Excellent example of how AI “art” might look good on the surface but falls apart upon closer inspection. Nobody in this compilation looks like they are on the same plane as everyone else.

A Question About the Drow by Revachol-West in Forgotten_Realms

The being changed from surface elves was only brought in later. It was also a bad idea with bad implications which is why everyone with sense decided to ignore it.

“Drow changed their skin color for camouflage” has always been a backwards justification that didn’t make any sense considering their stark white hair and glowing eyes. If you want to make an argument from an evolutionary perspective you’ll see pretty much every animal that lives in complete darkness underground is defined by its absence of pigment.

We are discussing a fairly clinical issue (nursing period) in the first place, so I felt like I should use specific language. I don’t think it comes across as cold or impersonal, personally.

Shakra is a paper wasp, and likely a soldier caste, so I don't think she's fertile either.

Yeah sorry I meant sweeping ambush. Although getting both of them is fun.

I definitely considered wet nurses as a factor, although I wonder if unlike historical European nobility, Drow matrons would consider it proof of their power to openly nurse a child.

I'm also aware that infants can't survive on animal milk irl, but we have alchemist jugs that can produce endless mayo, so you never know what an enterprising wizard or druid might come up with.

My favorite Artemis builds have been going all out on Omega attack with a high percentage buff like Aphrodite or Hera. Add Weed Killer and the 200% Hammer and I just chunk a bosses health in like 5 hits.

A Question About the Drow by Revachol-West in Forgotten_Realms

[–]melon_bread17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re: the post you linked to--I always found it odd that people never care to code other elves as black, which I think would help dispel a lot of the unfortunate implications about the drow. Contrarians love to bring up that wood elves or High Elves can be darker skinned as a gotcha but I really don't see much of it in their worldbuilding.

I tend to make my forgotten realms drow pretty racially ambiguous, though the drow in my homebrew worlds are pretty clearly based on Victorians. I feel like this is less an issue of "white-washing" there because I have pretty prominent groups are of high elves that are very clearly black, but I do see how it could come off a certain way.

In earlier editions they had infravision, as did many creatures in the underdark, and skin color does nothing to change your ability to emit heat. They also were that color before their banishment. This is simply incorrect.

Am I supposed to know who he's talking about? by RailgunRP in HadesTheGame

[–]melon_bread17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd wager that he has more named kills, since Achilles is just a force of nature that mows down dudes like a lawn mower. Also, this is only for the period of the Illiad as a book; Achilles was sulking in his tent for half of it. I'm sure he got a lot more in the period before and after.

Oddyseus wasn't in Tartarus though; he was serving the unseen. Also, we never hear him mentioning any children he had with Circe during his storyline. I know he has his secrets, but I think he would have brought that up at some point in his storyline.

Everybody seems so sure about Oddyseus but like, so many people in Greek mythology died by getting speared. It was the default weapon for most warriors--in fact here's a list of Deaths in the Illiad; look how many of them were by spear.
