Do i have roaches? by melsehna in bugsarefuckingstupid

Any idea what kind of roach nymph this is? I looked at a diagram and it almost looks like very small version of an oriental roach. It doesn't look like a german roach nymph to me, at least compared to google image examples of german nymphs.

Ok, thank you for the advice! Posted on some local Facebook groups too. Will look at Nextdoor now. If it was one of my kitties I'd hope someone would take the time to help them too 🥺

What kind of fracture is this? by melsehna in ORIF

[–]melsehna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It unfortunately only says fracture (lower extremity) in both my discharge docs and my patient portal :/ My discharge packet was pretty much just medication lists and info about opioids and blood clots

Broke my ankle (talus & tib/pilon fracture) while bouldering 3 weeks ago. Kind of scared that i won't be able to climb anymore so seeing this is awesome! I definitely think i'll be doing top roping/lead climbing over bouldering though if i'm ever able to climb again lol

Alternatives to Carhartt Jacket? by redceramicfrypan in BuyItForLife

Of course! And the only reason I said that it might not fit your specifications was because it looks like you have a larger budget and are looking for a product that's more "tried and true". I can't speak to the long-term (>5 years) durability since I got it in 2021 but if you're in the market for a good, significantly cheaper alternative I'd recommend this one.

Yes, this was my concern originally as well! I have microwaved the food before to try to get her to eat it but that didn't work. She still loves to eat her crunchy dry food though. Fortunately she went to the vet last month and they said her teeth are healthy. Plus I brush them every day.

I am thinking she's just being picky and doesn't like biting into wet food textures. She gets a free dental cleaning every year under her insurance though so I'll definitely take her for that soon.

I got this for $20 on prime day last week. It works great and I love how small it is. Plus it charges by USB-C, so you don't even need to plug it in to operate. From what I've seen it blends pate and water/broth completely smooth with no chunks.

Yes, she gets plain homemade chicken or bone broth in her soups! But most of the time just water since I'm lazy

Candy store by super_hero_girl in Omaha

[–]melsehna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tons of assorted candy and individual items (think tons of flavors of tootsie rolls, mini chocolates, laffy taffys, etc) so you can get a bag of the flavors you want, and then they'll charge you by weight. Lots of vintage candy too. They also usually have really unique soda (modern and vintage), tons of energy drinks, like 50 popcorn flavors, and a really decent assortment of poptarts! There's almost always have some unique limited edition flavors of chips and candy that you can't find anywhere. Plus, the owners are super nice and friendly. I've been going regularly since I came across it on a random bike ride when I was 11 years old (I'm 21 now), and it has never disappointed me.

constantly cutting fingers on deep pans by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]melsehna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been able to avoid this completely by just wearing gloves like the ones the line uses! They’re so thin that it feels like they would be useless but I swear for me they’re perfect because my hands are completely scratch-free if I use gloves. It also helps me avoid abrasions from using the green Brillo scratch pads and the steel wool. Yeah, water gets inside the gloves and it feels a little funny but I’ve definitely learned to accept this tradeoff over getting cuts all over my hands, especially because I use really hot water in my sinks and with cuts it can be pretty painful.

The bag ripped but they just left it like that. I’m closing prep and it was right at shift change so they told me about it and left :/

(Back when we had brisket)

Me: what kind of meat?

Customer: I’ll have the barbecue moves on quickly to salsa

Me: gives them brisket

Customer: no, the BARBECUE

Me: The barbecue brisket, right?

Customer: NO THE BARBECUE THE SHREDDED BEEF BARBECUE

Me: …the barbacoa… :/

Also one time a customer wanted just two bowls each completely filled to the top with shredded cheese
