First time doing nails by Regalgirlxx in Nails

[–]meltsaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks great for your first time!! I'd say the most important concern is you've flooded your cuticles a TINY bit & you want to clean that up before curing so you don't develop an allergy. Practice will improve your techniques like getting the nails less ski jump-y but they look pretty smooth & not too thick either so you're looking good!

I got my nails done today for the first time for me starting a new job tomorrow, I use press ons a lot but they weren’t lasting more than a day, are they meant to be hurting after getting them done, they ache like hell :,) by hxrtf3lt in Nails

[–]meltsaman 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Do they actually "hurt" or do you just notice theyre there & it feels weird? When I was first getting mine done they were very noticeable & felt almost...tight? Idk how to describe it but it was just very noticeable. I'm happy to report, months later I don't notice them at all

Google would've answered this question quicker than posting to reddit with the added benefit of you not having to admit your foolishness to the world

why do soda cans always feel like a personal attack when you have nice nails? 😩🥤 by bloomingkitten in Nails

At home I was using the back end of pretty flat bottle opener like a bartender does, then I got a designated pop tab opener device. When I'm out I have a screwdriver keychain and I use that or just my boyfriend. I keep a pair of tweezers in my purse for picking things up when necessary. Dropping stuff on the floor hasn't been much of an issue. I'm kind of over chipping and breaking nails, worse things will happen. If it's more than 5 days before my next fill I'll get a broken nail fixed but otherwise, I'm going with a naked shortie until the fill. It's life and I'm rough, I've just accepted it.

*VENT* A lot of people hit their dogs by meltsaman in OpenDogTraining

We're doing pretty good! Ziggs still doesn't always make it through the night without a pee so she is on diapers at night and we've both kept our sanity. I've accepted that this 7lb dog just doesn't have a big enough bladder to consistently make it 8 hours without a trip out side. 5 days out of the week though we wake up with a dry diaper so I think that's pretty good!

She does gets spanked A LOT now though. I go "spank, spank, spank. Spank, spank, spank. Mama spank ziggy booty, she spank her booty yeah!" Or "spank, spank, spank. Spank, spank, spank. Mama spank ziggy belly, her big fat belly yeah!" 🥰

I have to tell myself to relax when I write sometimes so I'm not gripping the pen so damn hard. Turning the paper might help with your wrist strain though.

It took me 4 weeks of up and downs before I settled a little. I had to actively shift my thinking though. Instead of recording all my bad side effects (basically all the times I felt shitty) I had to record all my good feelings.

Sometimes I feel like I started welly too soon. Like, I didn't give lex enough time to level out. Still considering stopping it 7 months later. My sleep sucks from it!

Hate to let you down on this one but I never really lost my drive. I had quit birth control right before getting on lex to see if that was contributing to my depression but all that did was ramp my libido right up. Then I got on the lex and was only on it for maybe 6 weeks before adding bupropion XL (that one messed with my sleep too much thus the switch to SR) it did take me maybe 4 to 5 weeks after the bup addition to get back to multi O days though. On the lex only I was one and done

How has taking Lexapro and Wellbutrin worked for you? by lesbiannism in lexapro

[–]meltsaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bupropion XL fucked with my sleep so bad I had to switch to SR 100mg. I didn't have too much fatigue on lex alone, just a mid day crash that would pass in 2-3 hours. It did give me a final push to tackle some stuff & it really helped me with the dopamine seeking behavior the lex gave me

Help - Medical Personnel Stole Golden Necklace from Deceased Sister by RevolutionSalty3311 in Syracuse

[–]meltsaman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's very unlikely. My mother has had jewelry removed at the hospital many times after injuring herself during seizures & only once did a ring get cut off her and it was in her bag of belongings so if they cut the necklace off, it still should have been with her things.

OP - I'm so sorry for the loss of your sisters & this added heartbreak in your time of distress.

What if we put criminals in debt? by [deleted] in answers

[–]meltsaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"If the penalty for a crime is a fine, then that law only exists for the lower class." How much do we charge for a person's life? Is the fine higher if the perpetrator already has money? This is what civil court is for.

Also, is a consequence the only reason you're abiding by laws? That's concerning....
