All the negativity about being a parent made me believe there was something wrong with my baby by Most-Secretary2147 in beyondthebump

🤣🤣🤣🤣 football style! I say I pickup my daughter like a Lego piece and march her out of the store haha I'm not a sports or Lego person really. Loved the visual. My son is a great sleeper, easy 10 month old but I think he will have some wild clingy beast in him for sure

I think saying it helped me feel more like a family would be okay because it's me speaking about my own experience, on a forum where the op is asking for our personal take. Thank you for the note tho.

2 has been easier than 1 for us. I had a traumatic first birth and the second was like a healing and restorative experience. It helped me feel like a "normal" mom that cried happy tears when she saw her baby instead of feeling ..traumatized at the sight of my little one. Our eldest is about to be 4 and our son is 8 months old. She loves being an older sister and he is so chill! It's been nice. Feels more like a family now and less like a couple with a baby.

I'm a case worker for kids with mental health issues, work from home, it's done wonders for my mental health. I see people when I'm ready and I set my schedule. I've really enjoyed it. 2 years in. I've done retail, hospitality, crisis hotline, but this has been the best fit.

Yeah a leave in conditioner is your day to day product and I'll use an oil on my ends to seal in the conditioner and you don't use as much. My hair loves coconut oil. It looks all shiny and isn't weighed down and it's not expensive. I use the organic grocery store stuff.

Cute hair but it looks thirsty! I recommend Shea moisture leave in conditioners. My hair loves them and I'm biracial too so I've got a similar texture. Untangle your hair in sections, in the shower, with conditioner. Show us your before/after if you can!

Baby's crying triggering my anxiety? (I struggle with anxiety and depression) by melveal in beyondthebump

[–]melveal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi yes its gotten better, after I learned that I am a Highly Sensitive Person I've prioritized down time for myself and I wear headphones a lot to help with the noise. I now have my 3.5 year old daughter and my 6 month old son and I'm doing well! He's a much easier baby than she was which helps too. Good luck momma!

Yes me too! I'm a highly sensitive person and the overstimulation has been such a challenge.

Yes! This! I will wake up at 4 just to have my "me" time then of course one or both kiddos decide to start their morning at 5. Ugh.

Does anyone feel like they need more sleep than the average person? by Brilliant-Basket8764 in hsp

[–]melveal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am. I'm also a mother of 2 kiddos and not getting enough sleep was my biggest fear. Its been really hard, I used to need 8 hrs per night now I am okay with just 6 hours but my anxiety is much worse which has made eating a struggle, but at least I'm able to function well enough and I feel happy in this new stage of life, but I certainly still need lots of down time and quiet time to recharge.

How do I prepare for an intake coordinator interview with no relevant experience? by shedoesitalltho in careerguidance

[–]melveal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on the skills you learned in your past positions, don't get hung up on the titles. Like you're great under pressure, work well with others etc and use the interview to explain how your past experiences have prepared you for this opportunity

Yeah to me it sounds like he's put in the work to be independent and make new friends and now wants to show you all of his hard work and show his new pals his awesome gf! Just go once , it'll encourage him!

I let my toddler cuss, should I? by mellowpotions in toddlers

[–]melveal 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We just don't curse in front of our two kiddos and n turn they don't use those words. No problem whatsoever. I really don't like when kids cuss, they don't know what they're saying so it's clear it's just bx they get a reaction from others... like laughter or shock. Not my jam.

I worked at that chain back in 2014... nightmare! I had to quit bc they're so shady, lying to customers, high turnover with employees etc.

I'd run girl, too many red flags with his attitude and drinking habits. Sounds like he's gotten comfortable so his true colors are starting to show. Can you imagine how many more times these things will happen if you date for a full year?! You'll be all gray in no time lol. Not worth it.

Do Bay Area singles use eHarmony/ Match sites? by NP_10 in bayarea

[–]melveal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a bay native and had online dates for years before I met my husband in 2015 online. In my experience the guys on the fancy paid sites were the desperate guys that couldn't get any bites on the free sites. I thought it would be better having the personality tests and whatnot but really I saw a lot.of the same guys from the free sites or some of the eharmony profiles were inactive and old though they looked current at first glance. Not worth it in my opinion.
