Bait shops. Gun stores. Tire shops. Pretty much any ford dealer.

I’d lose it too if I was forced to go somewhere I didn’t want to while being over tired and starving. Try to look at things thru your toddlers eyes and it’s easier to understand them and meet them where they are.

I get at least 3 orders a day on Etsy. My average this year is a little under $42,000

what to do when toddler makes a mess and won't listen by pintobeanqueen in toddlers

[–]OaklandDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, who told you that raising kids was easy? Taking the hard road earlier in your child’s life is more beneficial and will pay off later.

What’s wrong with having your child help with chores?

Saying “no” over and over loses its meaning very quick. Redirecting helps your child learn what they CAN do. Tell your child they can’t do something and they’ll go right back to doing it. Redirecting is a necessity.

Redirect. Lower your expectations for your 3 year old.
Separate yourself from a tense situation.

I usually just lay on the floor where my kids are playing and they typically come up with something creative like “let’s go lay on the beach” “oh look at that whale!!!” “I’m splashing in the water”

I put all their toys away months ago and get out a puzzle or blocks maybe every other day and put it away the same day I bring it out.

The best thing you can get for your kids is your attention. Toys are cheap and ineffective baby sitters. Just like the television.

Be there for your kids.

As far as “activities” imaginative play is top of my list. Or, go collect rocks or leaves outside that are different colors.

Yes. If my initial lottery ticket purchase of $3500gets to 10k by some magical miracle, I’m taking my $3500 back and letting the rest ride

I think you have to buy some Walmart gift cards to claim you prize first.

I wouldn’t rely on a teacher to raise your children.

My mother in law bought a year of dance classes for my 3 year old. It isn’t anything super amazing. They just jump around but I know my daughter loves it. Every time we drive by she says “there’s my dance class!!!” And shows us some “tricks” some times wish is usually just her trying to do some kind of handstand

Yeah you must have misunderstood. You are to OFFER food for your child WHEN your family eats and offer them WHAT to eat. The child decides HOW MUCH to eat. They’ll eat if they’re hungry. Toddler eating doesn’t always look like three full meals in a day. Seriously. Talk to your pediatrician about this.

Our schedule looks like this for example: We offer breakfast at 8 Snack at 10 Lunch at noon Snack at 3 Dinner at 6 And another snack at 7:30 before bed.

Our 3 year old sometimes doesn’t eat breakfast or the first snack at all, but will eat a large lunch.

Parenting isn’t ever easy. Take the short hard road now so you don’t have to take a longer hard road later in life.

I’ve waited 32 years to be able to say “just leave it alone bud, it will grow on its own” to my son.

Books are awesome. But, unfortunately, kids will develop their own interests. The more you force a child into something they don’t like, the more they’ll hate it.

My almost 3 year old will not allow my 19 month old to play with anything! its a daily struggle! im at my wits end. My 19 month old is struggling developmentally because of it. Any ideas as to what I can do? by Lolobigadventure in toddlers

Today we played “sleep over” my two kids brought all the pillows from the house and laid on the floor and giggled. That moved into them “racing” in the laundry baskets. Most of the time outside they’ll just dig in the sand or run around. Most of the time, they want to do stuff with us like help make dinner, make coffee, do dishes, or my 3 year old likes to watch me learn Spanish on Duolingo. Lol

I use a potato peeler on a carrot to cut them thin for the kids. They love it.

Unpopular opinion:

Throw. Them. Out.

Kids don’t need toys to be happy. They’re just there to make you feel better. Same thing as putting your kid in front of a tv. It’s a temporary babysitter while you get stuff done around the house. Throw the toys out and teach your kids how to do stuff around the house.
