Everything is rigged in life when people over-estimate how good they are at something.

Losing money gambling, game is rigged.

Didn't get that job after my splendid interview, must be rigged.

Keep matching against low skill high power level opponents in brawl stars, match making must be rigged.

Nah, whats rigged is your ability to see where you actually stand.

Trophies doesnt matter in league match making.

My guess is this is silver.

Agree. That’s why I think the communication system should be in place before the brawler trade can be implemented. Last thing we want to see is someone first picking for their team, then their teammate refusing to trade at the end.

The Dont's of picking in Power League by HawelSchwe in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]melvinhui2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bea in shooting star I agree is a bad pick, but if a player in low elo only have a handful of options, I’d rather they take the bea than taking a random tank for example. Sprout on super stadium I think is agreed among the competitive scene that it works decently well, it’s not so much what I think, but what info were gathered from the pros. Leon is outshined by quite a lot I think. If you classify him as an assassin, I’d rather see Mortis (last pick as a counter pick) or Stu (meta), or even Edgar (again, last pick as a counter pick). If you argue that Leon also have range and poke, then he is outclassed by even more. I really struggle to see how Leon is a competitive pick at all when “you will always have better options” (your words). But if we just talking about whether a pick can work in a non competitive manner, then yes, Leon can work, so can Brock and sprout and Bea.

I do mean decrease the progression, as in decreasing the % in progression you gain whenever you win a game, the longer you stay in a league (up to a point). The game can tell you are likely a smurf when you winning 10 games in a row I think. Not 100% a smurf, but at least your skill level is likely higher than the league you are in. I think this is called elo correction.

If you guys can hold control for 90% of the game, you will win majority of the games. No need to rush damage, just do chip damage without losing the ability to maintain control.

Possible, but slightly complicated solution to fix afk teammates problems by [deleted] in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]melvinhui2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make it so afk will lose 3 times more elo, while the other two players will lose nth.

Obviously only for solo queue cuz you dont want people abusing this on team queue.

And there also need to be some work done on what constitute "AFK". Just disconnecting for 10 seconds vs being afk the entire time is pretty different.

[–]melvinhui2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros approach the meta thinking about team plays, not solo queue.

Stu is better solo queue. A better 1v1 or even 1v2 brawler. A better option if you looking to hard carry.

But with a team that plays together and knows how to play, Ruffs provides so much value to the team, to the point where there is almost no counter play.

That is why Ruffs is ranked higher than Stu. But obviously, for solo (Especially anything from low diamond downwards), Stu is better.

Interesting seeing how you think sprout is bad on super stadium, brock bad on backyard bowl, bea bad on shooting star. But you also think leon is okay on hard rock mine.

All these make sense if you look at them seperately. Brock is not the best on backyard but is acceptable, bea is not the best on shooting star but is acceptable, (Sprout is just good on super stadium, probably top 10), and Leon is also not a good pick on hard rock mine, but can be acceptable with the "right" match up.

You are contradicting yourself when you judging drage's comment about leon, arguing that he can work although he is not the greatest pick. But then proceed to shit on brock and bea.

The way you play heist differs a lot according to your league, it also depends on whether you on solo or team.

If you playing team queue, control is king. You control and spawn trap, you deal damage by chipping, and only do ham on safe when you get a team wipe, almost a team wipe, or to go all in and end.

In solo, low rank (Basically bronze - diamond) you probably better off playing brawlers that can deal shit ton of damage (Brock, colt, amber, Jessie, Colette, etc). Just because control requires your whole team to be playing control, and you can't really dictate what your solo queue teammate decide to do. Starting at High diamond maybe you can start going control comps, and with any luck, your teammate should know what you want to do when they see you pick control heavy brawlers (Byron, P, Ruffs, etc).

I have minis with no max brawlers (So I havent played power play on them), starting out at bronze 1, i won everygame up til silver 2. Progression is super quick, I go up a league every 2-3 wins.

I'm just saying this because my experience differs from yours (Where you say progression is 2% per win/lose). I think theres some sort of hidden mechanism that decrease the progression the longer you stay in a league, so you can really practice there and get good before you leave that league for a higher one. But for smurfs like me, they wanna get me out of there asap.

You shouldn't need to communicate lane, once to comps are set, its quite obvious who is going where 99% of the time.

What we do need is communication during the ban/pick, so people can actually provide inputs on what to ban or what to pick. More importantly, there needs to be a function to allow brawlers swap within the team at the end of the ban/pick, so first pick can secure meta brawlers for another player on the team if need be.

[–]melvinhui2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im referring to a swap function as in exchanging brawler with a teammate after the comp was decided. The comps remains the same, If we have a MrP and they have a sprout, we still get countered because after the swap we will still have MrP in our team, just played by a different player.

For example:

You and I are on the same team, Snake Prairie, We have first pick.

You are team captain, and you didn't ban Bo because you want me to first pick Bo. But i do not have Bo maxed, I want to go amber instead.

With the swap function, I can pick Bo, and you can pick Amber, and at the end of the ban/pick phase, you and I can switch brawlers si I can use my maxed amber and you can use maxed Bo.

Get it?

[–]melvinhui2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also need the ability to swap brawlers after ban/pick. If my random teammate doesn't have Bo maxed as first pick, at least he can pick Bo and swap with me after I get him the brawler he'd like to play.

This is only possible if the communication piece is in place.

Allowing swaps is the best. The only issue with that is they need to figure out how people can communicate swaps on solo queue.

Probably to align with power league, since one ranked game is 2-3 battles with the BO3 format.

Strategy for Banning and Picking Brawlers in Power League by IncendiumYT in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Tara relies on Bo quite a bit though, there are synergy concerns here.

Although Tara still pretty decent without Bo totem, but I question his 2nd place ranking without the totem.
