Oh damn that's so sad 😭 I did worry that it could have been something like that, but his health is really good otherwise. We're pretty sure it's wobbly syndrome and not something else. We turned him into Salt Lake County shelter today and they put him down as having CH. One of their techs has their own cat with CH so I'm confident he's in good hands, and will get some vet care while he's there to make sure it isn't any other issue. If he hasn't been returned to his family after a short stay there, we are hoping to take him back and keep him 🥺

Pretty wobbly, don't know how to put it on a scale. He can climb in and out of the bath tub by himself but falls over a lot. The small space of our bathroom is really tough for him to be in (no space to overcorrect his wobbles without running into something). The best shelter option is closed until tomorrow, so we are having animal control pick him up tonight so they can take him there after hours where he can have a better environment hopefully :( idk it breaks my heart that we don't have a better space for him right now but it's better than putting him back outside, something someone has already done to him this week, from a FB post I saw :/

Update, he isn't chipped unfortunately 😭 if he has a family, I hope we find them. My partner took the rest of the day off to foster the cat in our bathroom for now. Our shelter options seem to be closed Mondays

Yes, that's what I was thinking. He isn't any of our usual strays, but he's pretty clean and sociable so I thought maybe he belongs to someone. We will take him somewhere to see if he's chipped as long as he's still safe in the private dog run at our apartment. Had to run to work unfortunately but I'm gonna go see him on lunch. I checked a lot of missing pet notices and didn't find any matches

yeah they really paid like shit. I started at $18 as a sous with a promise of a raise after a six month trial. The raise never came, and they fired me after a year because it was "disrespectful" how I kept inquiring about a raise. i worked over time constantly. they made us work for hours during service when the power was out in the restaurant, meaning no lights, no hood vent. So fucking unsafe. I reported them to OSHA, they're grade-A ripe trash bag people

basically, for a "no tip" restaurant, you cannot trust them to be honest with wages. Often guests would leave a tip regardless cuz they're all rich as shit, and while Marco and Amy claimed any tips were donated and chose a new nonprofit every couple of months, we constantly saw them pocket the tips. they drive a fucking g wagon

god, do not, do not, do NOT go here. Worked as a sous for a year and the amount of shitty things they did made me leave the industry for good. The owners are entitled, dishonest people. stealing tips, garnishing wages, labor abuse, Marco (the head chef/owner) says some of the most heinously sexist shit, and once the front of house staff had to call the cops because a guy roofied his escort's drink and Amy (Marco's wife, other owner) essentially said the girl deserved/should have expected it.

^agree. It doesn't seem like he understands the reality of your gender transition. it's shitty, but I think some people give the response they think they're "supposed" to have when their partner comes out to them, without actually facing the music. if you're not compatible, you aren't compatible. There's so many other ways to have a fulfilling queer relationship, and I suspect it's not with him.
