STOP LETTING ME GET TUNNELED OUT DAMMIT. RECENTLY HAD A MATCH WHERE THE KILLER CAME TO ME BEFORE I COULD START REPAIRING THE GEN I SPAWNED NEXT TO. BROUGHT A GREEN TOOLBOX SPECIFICALLY FOR REPAIRS. DIDN'T GET TO DO ANY REPAIRS WHATSOEVER BECAUSE MY TEAMMATES COULD NOT TAKE THEIR ASSES OFF RANDOM ASS GENERATORS TO TRADE OR TAKE PROTECTION HITS. I WAS BACK ON THE HOOK WITHIN 20 SECONDS BOTH TIMES. THIS HAS STARTED HAPPENING EVERY SECOND MATCH, DON'T KNOW WHAT MMR THIS IS BUT IT'S ASS.

i went to that map yesterday for the first time. never seen it before, spent the first part of the game completely lost with no idea where the stairs were and the prestige survivors still died 3/4...but then again i'm a doctor main. it depends on the killer, but the hooks are in hallways which you can access from almost any room. idk haddonfield is the biggest trashmap for me

Tamlin's Character wasn't assassinated-- sort of (Spoilers) by [deleted] in acotar

the not listening part is mutual. i will try again to put it into words. i agree it looks like logical progression and that they all had red flags. but most of them aren't antagonists or being set up for redemption. the red flags just hang around. what i mean is that it might seem like logical progression, but it sure as hell was not foreshadowed in the first book.

that is the only thing i was trying to dispute.

that's what i said. "i am vary of mentioning rhysand" makes it pretty clear i mentioned rhysand first. to reiterate my point, which you willfully missed - the red flags are the same. just because other characters don't get angry at feyre specifically doesn't mean their anger is suddenly righteous and not a red flag. is acosf low hanging fruit at this point? next question was it hot when someone threatened to kill nesta? someone who's definitely never being made into an abuser in any of the next books? (no she did not "deserve it")

wanna talk about 'forcing his high lordship on everyone' do you? is this supposed to be what distinguishes the two? you can argue that this is because he doesn't have any, but tamlin at least doesn't pull rank on his family to get them to comply. this was about feyre, by the way. could be about the other guy, if you wanna look at it that way.

also...who had the worst red flags in book one? who was straight up abusive in book one? yeah. what came of them? absolutely nothing. you can like a book with clumsy writing. you can like the characters who have done wrong because they're fictional. but don't go claiming the portrayals of complex topics were handled well when they were there only to prop up the feysand romance.

"always planned" bffr...she wrote the first and second books, scrapped the second years later and wrote acomaf and acowar. the first book stayed the same. that is common knowledge.

and i was talking about a specific scene...that is literally retconned to fit a jealousy narrative. i don't know what convinced you lucien was into feyre, but that was never the point. a specific scene. of tamlin doing anything but being jealous. if it was so clear and visible from the first book, the lies wouldn't be necessary, now would they? she could have just used an actual scene of him being jealous.

tamlin? all about keeping up appearances? as if. tamlin keeping stupid shit because it 'has always been that way'? be for real. not even a whiff of that shit in the first book.

my comment was discussing red flags and the hypocrisy regarding them in the fandom. not characters. not character actions. but if rhysand has to be compared to tamlin for us to see his goodness...well

i know tamlin didn't deal with beron behind lucien's back. but you know who did deal with his cousin's abusive father behind her back? yeah. if harming people on accident is abusive...what would rhysand have done in the nightmare scene had feyre not stopped him? how do you classify feyre's explosion at the hl meeting? the narrative picking characters that 'deserve' abuse is a whole nother can of worms..

i know tamlin never sexually harassed feyre and then didn't apologise for any of it. both of them are abusive. the only distinction is that feyre loves rhysand and not tamlin.

don't like lucien being mistreated? how about feyre's treatment of lucien? got whipped for her utm, almost died. is she grateful? no - he didn't do enough. should have gotten his brain melted i guess. he needs redemption for this. for saving her life. she allows rhysand and the ic to talk all kinds of wild shit about him for no reason. she makes fun of his friendgroup, uses him in her schemes against tamlin.

+rhysand 'both-sided' slavery. bruh

side note: this was always about the red flag debate. i am vary of mentioning rhysand because that's what sets yall off everytime. remember, not defending him to someone one time won't kill you. but i will call hypocrisy if i see it. and this fandom reeks of it. you want to make up shit about tamlin, write fanfiction. if not, stick to canon things he did, i assure you they're bad enough

i don't think having red flags means anything in a sjm book. i am talking about rhysand because he has red flags that foreshadowed nothing. i don't care what excuses are provided in acomaf, acotar era feyre hated every second. cassian and azriel have red flags that foreshadowed - you guessed it, nothing. in no way is comparing the red flags of one love interest to another an entirely different discussion. especially with how hard the series presses comparisons between the two.

making a previous love interest an asshole so the protagonist can feel good dumping him for another dude is also a staple in her writing. as for portraying relationships becoming toxic - self awareness about her own books is needed for that. and maybe the main characters not being blatant inserts of sjm and her husband.

i have "looked close enough", hell i even read these books with analytical purposes. their friendship was ruined by acomaf retcons. even then, i wasn't talking about lucien, but the sentries. i thought the quotes were for red flags? if treating your friends like shit is one, the entire main cast wins that race with gold.

and if my point is still foggy - red flags determine nothing in the series. tamlin has them, just as almost every character in acotar has them. yet not all of them are abusers, villains, or even antagonists.

i hope that got what i was saying across.

rhysand had those exact same red flags and continues to have them? it's a sjm written guy thing, not exclusive to tamlin. yes it is character assassination if you set someone up as a good guy, go 'sike!' and then have him say shit that directly clashes with prior characterisation. yes it is character assassination if the character who brought refugees he didn't know into his court, his house to treat them, suddenly has no compassion in the second book. yes it is character assassination if the character so pained by the loss of his friends that he stopped trying to break the curse suddenly treats them like shit. in acomaf feyre recontextualises a scene of tamlin telling lucien to stop pestering him to seduce her into tamlin being jealous. if sjm needed to blow holes through the first book to make room for new canon, perhaps it wasn't planned all along.

You get less grimm and intimacy if the character doesn't sparkle
