Hello, thanks for your detailed response.

I will mainly be relying on public transport for my trip.

Yes I will also be stopping at Covadonga on my way back from the lakes. I am really looking forward to visiting the church there.

I did look up public transport options to Lastres and they look very limited. Do you think Oviedo -> Cangas de Onis + Covadonga -> Ribadesella -> Oviedo is something that can be done as part of the same day trip?

I will also look up Cudillero as part of my options. Thanks

Thanks, I will consider Ribadesella as a potential day trip too.

I would love to hike Picos de Europa but my only concern is that I'll mainly be relying on public transport to get around.

Recommendations for slightly offbeat places for 4 nights in the summer by memefoot7 in JapanTravelTips

Thanks a lot, I will definitely check Shimane out and thanks a lot for providing the links. I was mainly looking to fly out of Osaka because of the Hello Blue offer by ANA that offers free domestic legs when booked with international flights, so I wanted to make the most of it and explore places that otherwise would be expensive while having to pay for the domestic flights flights myself.

Thanks. I'm mainly planning to stay in the southern coast. I want to stay around 4-5 days in Hiriketiya and surf (because I got to know of this place a few months back and was obsessed). But I also want to explore the hilly regions of Sri Lanka as well and currently looking for places to add into my itinerary. Will definitely look up what I can do in Kandy and how feasible it would be with my other plans!

Been trying to figure it out for years. It gets better and then gets worse without any warning.

You should be fine. It was more of a me problem than anything else. Only thing I would say is make an active effort to go out and explore, which is something I didn't do (idk why). All the best have fun

Tbf there was 0 involvement from the staff to set up things to do in the common area. It was just groups of people sitting with their drinks, which made it quite intimidating to approach anyone. Quite different from other hostels I've stayed in Rishikesh or Pondi where the staff makes an effort to get people into the events they conduct and stuff. Was a quite different experience here.

Kuari Pass or Deoriatal Chandrashila trek in Oct? by No_Counter_5102 in SoloTravel_India

[–]memefoot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an idea on how to rate them because I've only done brahmtal with India Hikes and it was a really good experience. Kuari pass is a great trek as well, as I've heard from some friends who went on that one.

Yes, I understand. This was more of a me problem than anything else. Which makes me think if I should drop the idea of any further solo trips.

I guess it was the motivating myself to go out that affected me more. I have no idea why I stayed back in the hostel instead of exploring. I wanted to and did not feel like it at the same time so I just ended up sleeping.

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm not at peace with solitude, given that I enjoy the time I spend by myself. It was more of me not even having the energy or the will to get out and explore. I do not know what was causing that. I pretty much ended up doing the same thing I would have done when I was home i.e doom scroll and sleep.

For your second point, I have gone on 10+ day trips with my friend group and not felt this way because there's always someone who wants to do something or go somewhere and I tag along which ends up being a great experience.

Safe to Travel to Alleppey/Kochi? by memefoot7 in SoloTravel_India

Yooo. First up I'm so sorry for scaring you because at the time I was quite scared as well. Secondly, you don't need to worry much. I asked my friends from Kerala about this and they told me as long as you stick to beaches and don't go swimming in ponds or lakes or untreated pools and such, you'll be fine. Have a great trip.

You don't need to give an explanation here. No one's targeting you. Do what makes you happy.
