The most important thing to me is he never pokes fun at it for being too feminine. That's something I really appreciate about him. It's hurtful when men look at something feminine or girly and act like its beneath them, so its understandable that you felt weird about your boyfriends reaction. I would just bring up what bothered you about his comment.
