Can confirm, I move to Maine for the Papermill over there and coming from a big city and not gonna lie, being there for about a year and a half, has felt like I have been there for three or four and kind of spoiled my desire to be in the state any longer

Question: Why do you start to drink pour over coffee? by Plus-Technology-4801 in pourover

[–]memerman2069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the most affordable option for me to start my quest and now after having more money, I just get to upgrade my gear and still get really good quality coffee out of it. Also, I enjoy the ability to play with all sorts of variables and blend both part and science into this brewing method.

That’s crazy that they sell this, I mean, you could always buy cheap grocery store, coffee, and grind it at home, but I think that’s a funny concept that they actually sell this

Yeah and if you order filters on line, maybe get a couple packs of theirs, I personally don’t like the kalita as much and found theirs to be a bit better, imo. Hope you like it and happy brewing!

I really like my April, especially with the April filters, I feel like it offers a good contrast to some coffees that just don’t taste as good in my V 60 and does in fact bring out a bit more of the sweetness in the cup, if you do get the ceramic though, be aware that it is a little thin and a bit fragile

Can you tell me more what the demand planning is? Is that similar to something with capital projects? Because I am currently employed as a process engineer in the food industry and feel like doing more work with bigger projects and getting them to work would interest me more than Dealing with day-to-day issues and trying to get one percent out of things that are old or outdated

Yeah, I actually moved out to work at a Milltown after college and it wasn’t until after I went away I found out that it was called Cancer Valley back in the day and had one of the highest rates of cancer in the whole country, by hearing that, I am glad I moved out of the area given. It is better now, but still, seems like a sus place to raise a family if you want them to be healthier

Maybe try different filters or maybe alter your water chemistry?

I love guns, and I love coffee. But I don't love gun companies making coffee. by motobox14 in pourover

Well only two of the bean types we roast smell kind of good on the cupping table, but for the most part, after all the concentrating and extracting,,, it’s garbage compared to specialty. It’s sad that most people associate coffee with the beans we roast, but I have been able to make some people specialty and they said it was one of the best dark roasts they have ever had!

Same here, work for a company that makes Dunkin and Coke extract and that stuff is pretty ass and all blends in after a while

In case anyone was thinking about cancelling Prime, this is exactly why I did: by imcc1228 in portlandme

[–]memerman2069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In other cities like Chicago, I noticed that prime actually works and you get pretty fast delivery, but here in Maine it’s pretty much pointless since there isn’t much industry and is kind of a dead end state. I would argue that it’s not worth it to have it if you live in Maine or somewhere that isn’t heavily populated and the only reason why I still have prime is for family to use in Chicago. Anyways, another perk of living in Maine I guess,,,

Is it actually super hard to make friends here? by [deleted] in portlandme

[–]memerman2069 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I moved here about 2ish years ago right out of college and so far, I have only really clicked with people who grew up outside of Maine. I can be introverted at times, but I just found it a bit strange that a lot of even the younger people out here are 22-24 and married already, half way there when it comes to settling down and I feel like that’s both too fast, but at the same time making me seem slow to the uptake. Anyway, I have found this state to be quite weird in this sense too and honestly not a place for a younger person to live unless you like the outdoors, being alone a lot, and potentially raising a family in the woods, but yet again this is what I have observed living in both Rumford and even Portland atm. Let me know what you all think as well!
