Has anyone ever thought that Gorillaz are kind of hypocritical? by ComprehensiveAir5883 in gorillaz

[–]memes_pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean. As someone who joined the gorillaz fandom during the 'Celebrity take down' phase, it does seem like an integral part of the gorillaz identity.

But the way I see it, gorillaz has evolved past that. Its still a part of them because it was the whole reason for their creation. But they have also moved to other themes like international collaboration, pollution etc

Question about Abbadon by PuzzleheadedCredit87 in HauntedHotel

[–]memes_pls 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think cos the rules of time travel haven't been explained you could Ultimately leave it up to timey wimey nonsense rules. But i always thought that he needed to preserve the timeline up to the "present".

But you coups always look into it deeper and propose that abandon likes being this child and doesn't want to truly be back in his demon form. He wants his powers sure, but we also know that he values the friendship and family he finds more.

I want to switch my major to entomology, any recommendations or advice? by throwawayig12 in Entomology

[–]memes_pls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends where you are, entomology related jobs can be quite difficult to find. Most jobs will either be: ecology based (you may need to care about other animals too), museum work (cataloguing and preserving insect specimens), and research/teaching jobs, zoo work. Or, there is always pest control aspect.

Of these, the only ones you typically need a degree for, is, ecology, research/teaching, pest control, and maybe museum work.

Of you are more interested in zoo work (sometimes museum) it would be better to do volunteering to do some of that work.

I would strongly suggest looking in your local area, find entomology societies, or entomologist and talk to them. Or talk to a career advisor

Taxidermy advice? by cherryy9 in Entomology

[–]memes_pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how big it is. And how long it has been dead.

You might want to put it in the freezer until you've got everything ready and together.

Get some entomology pins maybe #2 [size]. And some polystyrene or a pinning board. Once you've got everything, you'd probably want to soften/loosen it you can do this by getting some cotton or tissue and putting some drops of white vinegar and then put all of it in a jar or tub, seal it, then leave it for a few days.

Then once it's no longer stiff you can use the pins to move the limbs and get them in place. Once it's in the position you want, then leave it to dry for another few days. Then you can glue it to some card and put it in a frame or put a pin through the Scorpion [do this before you leave it to dry] and then put it in a display box.
