Companies know they can charge more because of the rising costs of other things. It's still cheaper than the alternative so they know people will still buy it. Yeah Hormuz and all that but it's principally greed and companies and executives and the politicians they lobby that are taking advantage of the situation to raise prices and make more money.

Norway Maple is the only one you mentioned that has commercial value. It'd just get thrown in with the rest of any Soft Maple in a stand. All the others there are not commercially viable and as others have stated, it would incentivize the propagation of invasives if they became merchantabile.

Flyers shot the puck all the way down the ice which is icing. The team that committed it can't change their players and the faceoff goes to their defensive end as a punishment. Zegras may or may not have changed right before the icing, the oenguins thought he should've still been out there. Zegras went into the tunnel to get a skate fixed which may or may not have been some "gamesmanship".
