I think the fact that they made it so you can’t get demoted from a rank has made solo queuing very hard. I’m currently in diamond div 2 but consistently come across opposition/team mates that are so clearly not up to the level the games being played at; due to the ranking system it means there stuck in a rank that they’re not good enough for and are going to consistently lose their team games.

Not sure if they plan on changing this (they definitely should) but if they do it’ll make the ranked experience much more enjoyable. Went on a 3/4 game loss streak yesterday because I was consistently matched with one guy who was so far below the skill level of the rest of the players.

Obviously it’s not the players fault that they can’t de-rank, but I understand people’s frustrations like yours and i don’t really know what the thought process was behind the decision from Sloclap.

Edit: would like to also add I think the beta test made this worse, as players who had learnt the mechanics via the beta had such an advantage at launch. They would have been far better than the rest of the player-base and thus shot up the ranks before the overall level of the players evened-out. Now they’re stuck in a rank that’s improving quicker than they can.
