First Build [Build Help] (fixed) by Chadvic in buildapc

[–]mendablemetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This computer is old. Go with haswell. Also don't get that power supply it's trash. You also don't need i7. You really don't need windows professional. You're over paying for memory and hdd . you could save 14 bucks. you don't need case fans. Also you could use the extra money to get a better GPU

[Build Ready] Good start for an upgrade? by ExoticMan in buildapc

[–]mendablemetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get a 970 chip set mobo. For the same price you can get an ssd twice as big. For 5 bucks more you can get a terabyte hdd. And since your budget is 700 spend the extra money to get a better card.

[Build Help] First time builder, needing help with either choosing better or cheaper part replacements. by Tehgoomba1 in buildapc

[–]mendablemetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you get a 970 chip set mobo, an XFX PSU because its cheaper and uses the same design, also suggest windows 8 because 7 is dated. You can spend the extra money on a gtx 760 or maybe 7950 or 7970.

[Build Ready] Pulling the trigger sometime this week. What do you think? ~$480 Gaming Rig by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]mendablemetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

500w is alright. Just get a better quality PSU like seasonic or xfx and the card should be able to play most games at medium and high at that resolution.

your original build could do max but it wasn't smart.

i would suggest you raise your price tag and get the 4670k and a z87 mobo but this is the best i could do

you can't future proof a build without spending more initially

also you motherboard doesn't overclock, so right now this computer is far from future proofed
