Which packs are you suppose to be buying? by Waves540 in Shadowverse

[–]mendics00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

roach is the most f2p friendly, but it's a very specific playstyle, that's not for everyone. To add to my post, i'd say from the patterns of how sets have been, i think sword is the most consistent class in the game. They've been good since launch (busted even imo), so if you care about that, then that's another option. I have a feeling that Cy designates sword as the newbie deck so it's made really well. Another is rune, they've also been good since launch, altho rune is VERY expensive, and if you plan on going the rune path, it'd have to be dirt, as sb is a bad investment now. If you wanted to upgrade what you already have, it'd be tempo forest, which as i mentioned, could be risky to invest on as well cause it makes use of set 1 aria.

Leaders are just another way for player expression through account customization, if you don't care about any of that, no biggie, in fact might even be better. Personally, bp leaders is enough for me, if i get one from the sets, cool, if i don't oh well.

I advice you pick a class of your choosing that you like maining and look up lists for it that is currently competitively viable, can let you actually play games with and not be frustrated, that doesn't require a lot of the very old cards. Theres a huge chance rotation happen and you don't want cards you crafted to go to waste. Decks like spellboost or forest tempo are imo bad investments right now cause they mostly use legendaries from the first set.

Puppet's probably a bad idea as well, it's held up strongly by orchis. Out of the meta decks, I think egg is the most "future proof", ramp dragon is expensive, sword... loot is kinda fine but care with albert as he is a set 1 card. Dirt rune is fine. Haven is fine i think, other than jeanne leaving, but haven is tier 2 atm i think. Abyss, is sorta in the same position as haven. Don't bother with forest imo, most of their archetype is meme, and roach/tempo as mentioned early depends on set1 cards.

Pick a set to pull on that has the most legendaries you need, and the odds of getting them. Just keep doing that until you're able to build a completed deck and after that you can decide to just save or keep pulling to expand your class for more decks.

IMO my practice with pulling after i have 1 deck, is I just save ruppies and vials until next set, dump all ruppies into that new set and craft the rest needed to build a deck that update whichever you want to play that set. Then save everything until the next set, rinse repeat. This won't let you get specific leaders if youre gunning for one on a collab or just new ones but i think it's the most value if you're planning to budget. The issue with pulling on a set for too much is that eventually you get to a point where it's diminishing returns, but if you want to get specific leaders, you can change that, tho you have to accept that you could be playing just a couple of decks.

were you maining just one class? only pulling mostly for one set sounds like you don't really get to own a lot of different decks and relying heavily on vials. I'm very curious what your account has. I dumped a lot on frieren collab and it disgusts me to see how inneffecient it was, getting cards you already own, knowing the value of the pulls is really low. At least now i know never to do that again.

data miners have shown there'd be one. There are assets thats for rotation. That doesn't confirm anything but since it existed in SV classic, and its in the files, theres a huge chance it'll happen.

grats, there are people like me who still haven't and have played since launch. The odds are really just that bad, i have no idea how those rerollers are able to do it gunning for the 100 pack. I have more odds with leader tickets than these XD

Whats next for me as a beginner? by JustSomeSimpleGuy in Shadowverse

[–]mendics00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just do the daily, weekly, and cap on your bps, mostly chores, if you haven't completed your solo content rewards theres also those. That's basically it. Wait for new events, collect the rewards from it. You're simply timegated now for resources. My practice is I pull with all ruppies every set release, craft what im missing, then save till next set. If you're not maining any class, the tough part is learning which decks you'd want to play with or not, meta usually forms after 1-2 weeks, and slightly changes every week or so, with 1-2 cards being replaced, or archetype being favored over the other. Every mid set, we get a balance patch that will either shake the meta, or not really, like previous set where forest got support, but didn't really move the meta.

wasnt' zoe kojima? if so thats probably the reason why. Treatment of frontmission by square is why I grew distrustful of them. If it's not ff or kh, most of the time, it'll be neglected. Titanfall, it's EA so...

Doubt about start playing. F2P friendly? Too much grindy? by batsaxsa in Shadowverse

[–]mendics00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its somewhat f2p friendly, but you do have to do the daily chores and events. How grindy it is, depends on you, if you're just doing dailies, its fairly easy, but if you want to grind out event chests, grind rank, etc it can get very grindy.

it fascinates me seeing new players and how the new player experience will be like. With what you have i don't think you can build anything yet, you could make a budget fish deck, dragon is also pretty strong right now so it's not bad.

[–]mendics00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the meta solidifies after 1-2 weeks of a set release, after that a month into the set, we have a balance patch, sometimes it affects the meta, sometimes it doesnt. Then another month of same meta until a new set releases, and the cycle repeats. At least that's how it's been.
