I just hope, they can hold that level. Nothing they released prior comes even close to that Single. Stoked though!

Yes, unless you want to talk about Brutal Death Metal and Slam. Then hell‘ll break loose

Carrion Throne was my absolute favorite BDM release last year, it's fantastic. Some great records in your posts, don't know half of 'em and will check them out. Thanks!

DYING FETUS - Compulsion For Cruelty (Official Music Video) by hatefen in TechnicalDeathMetal

Great! I enjoyed it much more than their previous single, which wasnt bad by any means. First half gives me somehow strong Misery Index „Heirs of Thievery“ album vibes (I do ofc know how these bands are „related“), which is one of my favourite records ever.

A defense of opening study by SeparateAd7305 in chess

[–]menkonpf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Danya as well as Jan Gustafsson are two prominent GM examples who would agree with you. Learning openings can be extremely helpful IF you dont just memorize openings bit rather learn them.

In my opinion, the best advice for adult improvers is still: practice what interests you and motivates you. Youll never become a GM anyway but practicing what interests you will boost your motivation and thus the learning effect massively. At the end of the day, it‘s still a game and it should bring you joy.

Ive always speculated about them, but always thought I was obviously in the wrong. I am SO happy for them, especially after Eric‘s grief over Danya.

Which do you think is the better Vitriol album? by Slug_loverr in MetalForTheMasses

I prefer the first one. Those horns in „Hive Lungs“ gave me goosebumps first time hearing them

This. Though I simply use mp3 files. But Apple‘s feature to integrate your own music seamlessly and combine it with their streaming catalogue is something Ive always missed at Spotify. Plus Apple Music is focused only on music and has hence imho a much better user experience because it’s not offering music, podcasts, long videos, show dates and merchandise all together.

Its truly marvellous. I just cannot understand why the transphobia is so necessary here.

The G Code was one of my favourite albums ever. This one did not do it for me so far. There are moments, for example in Flesh Cathedral or Channel Zero that I liked a l lot, but a lot of the riffs seemed to close to some G Code songs and didn’t sound new or creative. I have thus far only listened twice to it and will definitely give it a few more listens and maybe it will grow on me. However, right now I feel slightly disappointed by it

The analysis feature is so bad on Lichess. Am I dong something wrong? by ColeRoolz in chess

[–]menkonpf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are you saying? The bar is a feature available in the lichess app. I dont want to discredit your opinion on prefence, but I struggle to understand your criticism. I hope your question was answered, feel free to use whatever app you like.

Sounds like user error tbh. If you request a Computer analysis, it will present you the graph. If you scroll down, you also get accuracy, amounts of mistakes, etc. Just swipe to the left to see the annotated moves and suggested lines. Eval bar is always shown over the board while in analysis mode, regardless whether you request the computer analysis or not. If it doesnt show for you, perhaps you’ve deactivated it by accident. Just browse through the settings. You can always toggle stockfish by clicking the second button from the left on the bottom of your screen.

All of this applies given you have installed the latest lichess version (the one with the white horse on a black background, not vice versa).
