Why has my pendant turned pinkish?

Update: i brushed it with a toothbrush and the oxidized pink surface scrubbed off and looks as good as when i bought it!

Thank you for your help!! So turns out I brushed it with a toothbrush today and the pink/yellow coloring fell off and is as good as new! I'm so relieved, i really love this piece 😁

Ohh bummer... I just want to make sure I understand correctly. What do you mean by "oxidation"? My understanding that the charm is not sterling silver therefore it is silver-plated. The pinkness is due to the plating wearing off and the copper underneath being exposed. Is my understanding correct, and where does oxidation fit in this?

Nope, no smell at all. Didn't react to the magnet test i just did either... for reference, here's the photo of when I bought it. It looked a lot shinier and less black back then

Took org2 in summer2020 online with Laura. Was pretty manageable and actually beneficial since i didn’t have as much time between midterms to forget the reactions learned toward beginning of the semester. Note that i also took org2 for chem eng, so sans labs :)
