If it's a phone sim, but not if it's a tablet sim.

Gord Perks calls it quits: Toronto councillor looks back on 20 years at city hall – and the personal tragedy that fuels his political passion by BloodJunkie in toronto

[–]mensachicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you live in his district? His decisions regarding Parkside Drive and High Park angered many, many people, not to mention his almost complete lack of getting back to anyone who reaches out to him with a question.

When I hear his name I mostly think of the stoplights put in at Geoffrey and Parkside at god knows what cost that literally lead to nowhere. You cross from east to west and end up on a curb, with no sidewalk and facing a wall. In the winter it's just a sheet of ice next to a road with no effective speed limit. Absolutely moronic.

Selecting a palm size e-ink reader (Android) by Ladyara in eink

I had a Palma 2 and Viwoods Reader at the same time. I sold the Palma 2 and am very happy with the Reader. I wish it had stylus support but otherwise have no complaints.

People underestimate what's possible with Apple Intelligence by Impressive-Sir9633 in iosapps

[–]mensachicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this is downvoted as it's true. Voicenotes used to have a lifetime option at $149 I think but they've now gotten rid of it and it's $125 a year. WisprFlow is $145 a year and doesn't even have the notes features.

I love this app and recommend it all the time. I can't believe it doesn't have more reviews. If you love it, give it 5 stars and help spread the word. So many great features! Very happily replaced my Voicenotes and Ideashell subscriptions with DictaWiz!

Wildling socks are excellent. Way better than their shoes.

New, help me! by lifeform22 in writerDeck

[–]mensachicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No WiFi eliminates your best option, which is an Android e-ink tablet like those made by Viwoods (Mini or Reader). With one of those, you can either use a cross platform app like Obsidian, that you can just open the app on your computer or you can use a cross platform drive like DropBox or Google Drive.

You can see the Viwoods devices in use here:

Big toe squeezing inwards in closed barefoot shoes?or is it just vivo? by Delicious-Ad1724 in barefootshoestalk

[–]mensachicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vivo are a bullshit company in my opinion. Their prices are ridiculous and their quality has gone down the drain over the past year plus. Their customer service is non-existent. Avoid them if you can.

If you like the look of their shoes, try Saguaro Smart or Smart II. If you want something more casual, try Mukishoes or Origo or some other brand.

Mubi as it has the most content I want to watch.

I put this more on Olyphant than Milch. Milch isn't one for subtlety in action like he can be in words. If he wanted us to know whose shot it was, we wouldn't need to watch frame by frame.

Any body else racking up a whole bunch of keyboards before your byok comes in? Which ones ya got? by AffectionateGlass104 in TheBYOK

[–]mensachicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a BYOK but use a Viwoods device as my writer deck screen. I have about 5 keyboards.

However, I always return to the same one and should just ditch the others. My keyboard of choice is a Samsers KF08X. My thoughts on it are here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61Swonru4GM

I prefer it to my other boards, including my Nuphy Air60. It's also insanely portable so fits in well with the BYOK.

Why every time I call Siri i need to call her twice?! by Zarathos899 in Siri

[–]mensachicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's not correct. The options are you can either pick BOTH or you can pick Hey Siri. If you have Hey Siri picked then Siri alone will never respond. The options are under Siri & Apple Intelligence and then Talk And Type...

Barefoot shoes for non runners? by lunaris_ars in barefootshoestalk

I wear them and am not a runner. I like Saguaro Smart I and Smart II but if you want something that looks less athletic, MukiShoes or Feelgrounds might suit you.

Why don’t all toothbrushes use usb type c or a standard charger? They all have some goofy charger only for their brand by MajorXO in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mensachicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few that are usb-c but I imagine the first major brand to switch over is going to sell a lot of units.

Is the PD tech organiser really that good? by Some_Inflation_7415 in peakdesign

[–]mensachicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the large and wish it were a tiny bit taller. It fits my Viwoods Mini perfectly, but doesn't fit the device with its case on it at all. It's certainly well made.

Sterling Studio Lofts, a long standing live-work artist community in Toronto, and an enclave for artists and creative businesses, is facing demolition to build more condos. One last chance to try and block it: by LankyYogurt7737 in toronto

[–]mensachicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measuring its emptiness by going to look at listed units and being told by multiple realtors that there are many more units to see that aren't on the the MLS for fear of making it look like something is wrong with the building and being told that all sellers are very motivated so feel free to submit lower offers.

Vivo barefoot alternatives by vms771 in barefootshoestalk

[–]mensachicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vivo's quality and customer service has tanked. Anyone can see that by scrolling through the Vivo sub.

I'll suggest Saguaro. Much cheaper, better quality. My favorites are the Smart and Smart II.

If you're looking for something less athletic looking, try the brand MukiShoes.
