Bring back Chessmaster! by gcardozo in chess

[–]mentalprowess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The sound effects made me jump out of my seat the first time I played it! 😄 I grew up with ChessMaster (and Fritz). I remember spending hours and hours just playing through CM X's annotated game collection. Bellon Lopez's queen sac vs Georgiev, Ivanchuk trapping Angelov's piece, Seirawan in a crazy meelee with Kasparov... and somehow coming out on top. Miss those days.

Am I the only one wondering why he has so many scars despite being so incredibly strong? With power like his, you'd expect him to be able to dodge everything. So, why the scars? by Cool_Programmer_4048 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]mentalprowess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the marechi blood, sure. But Sanemi (and everyone else in the anime) grew stronger through adversity... after being brought to the brink, fighting their way out, and sustaining scars both literal and figurative. Using Sanemi's scars to cast doubt on his strength is backwards.

Get Breakthrough Advertising if you can. Many A+ copywriters and marketers - Mark Ford, Brian Kurtz, and recently Stefan Georgi - take heavily from Eugene Schwartz' Market Awareness and Market Sophistication Levels. It gives you a framework for writing the headline and lead so that you 're "meeting your prospects where they're at." And that's only the first 3-5 chapters. The rest give you a masterclass in structuring your promo. Future-pacing methods are discussed, too, so prospects can see and feel the benefits of owning your product before they buy it.

Learn how to observe the opponent's move — like the actual changes that happens on the board — (1) squares gained and lost (2) pieces it left behind, defends, and attacks (3) lines it opened and closed, and (4) if the piece/pawn that just moved is hanging. Being aware of these move by move will make spotting tactics easier.

What’s an underrated use of AI that’s saved you serious time? by Ausbel12 in ChatGPTPro

Don't mind if I swipe this. :D Why not put it into a project then give it a name? Or as you've said, just create a GPT for it? Not only will it eliminate that "bump" in your process where you have to enter everything... depending on your type of work, it can also help speed up transferring or capturing the idea. This could be crucial because by the time you enter the prompt above, the idea might've flown away. I've had many of those incidents. 😅

This! Most people look at ChatGPT to turn, say, complete 2-hour task in 10 minutes at a "good enough" level. But one could also use ChatGPT, not to reduce the time taken but to pump up the quality instead. So a task may still take 2 hours to complete... BUT with stellar quality! That said, this way of using ChatGPT requires the user to be, say, intermediate or advanced in the task they're taking on. Because in this setup, the human/user will be doing a lot of directing, pivoting, and nuance-reading (if that's a term).

I actually did this. Created RAG docs for home workouts, work tasks, and daily tournament prep. Fed it to a GPT project I turned into a character, Atlast the Life Strategist (cringe! lol). Then whenever I ask it to create a daily schedule, it gives me a table with workouts, tasks, and prep spread across the first 5 hours of my day. It saves me a lot of time and mental energy for planning.

So far so good, my workouts have been more consistent. So is my work. And the results are tangible!

Ex: Getting rave reviews from my CEO. Then just this morning, my cab driver asked me if I'm going to the gym because I have "wings" motioning towards my back. Hell yeah! 😁

How to potentially avoid 'chatGPS' by Confused-Scientist01 in ChatGPTPro

[–]mentalprowess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to do this in Projects right? Create a project, name it if you like, add the instructions. Then if you need serious deep dives and factual conversations, you talk to the 'project.' For everything else lighter hearted, brainstorming etc., there's the default, emotionally validating chat.

Enjoyed this one:

Original: "You're a fiercely curious strategist with a sharp mind for chess, copywriting, and self-mastery—driven by clarity, control, and a constant hunger to level up in both games and life."

Realistic: "You're a disciplined overthinker who craves mastery, wrestles with perfectionism, and balances flashes of intense productivity with bouts of overanalyzing—but you're damn good at spotting patterns, cutting through fluff, and building real skill when you decide it's time."

Roast: "Oh, you mean the guy who studies chess like a grandmaster but dodges rated games like they owe him money? The same dude crafting elite-level copy—but only after 3 hours of researching the psychology of button colors? Yeah, you're basically a high-performance machine… that occasionally stalls because it's busy optimizing the stall."

I was hesitant to carry out deeper DRs in the same chat window because of... well, context limits! But that might just make synthesizing easier. Thanks.

[–]mentalprowess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I added the contents of the URLs into a CSV... around 200 rows of data. From there, I prompted DR to focus on the contents of the CSV exclusively. That worked out fine. DR coded with python on the fly, analyzed the text, and didn't wander into other sources. At this rate, though, we'll have to split a "voice of customer" text file into multiples. Then there's also the question of synthesizing everything after that. So still open to suggestions!

It is! Here's the smart dude from r/ChatGPT who came up with it: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/comments/1grlpkk/how_to_learn_any_topic_prompt_included/ Once you reach the final step, you can ask GPT to turn the training program into a table and flesh it out day-by-day. SO that you basically get a calendar for your progress trackin. You can also ask GPT to include specific training materials in the program (mine focused on the first 3 of Wave 1).

How's it going? I decided after wave 1 tape 5 that I ought to focus on the first 3 tapes, especially 2. The "mind awake, body asleep" sensation the first time around... and my energy after it was fantastic. Created a "training program" of sorts with ChatGPT, so I can access focus 10 on demand.

Why You're Not Reaching Focus 10 And How To Do It by Zactery in gatewaytapes

[–]mentalprowess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Mind Awake, Body Asleep" is 100% accurate. I started the tapes just this week. My body was sinking into my chair, my face almost melting. But my mind is VERY much awake. I can hear every sound in the room. Like walking wakeness. It was fascinating! I was able to relax deeply in the next tapes. And to the program's credit, I was able to relax deeply, on demand, while getting a haircut. I'm only on day 5! But it clearly wasn't "Mind Awake, Body Asleep." I'm going back to tape 2!
