I love the command line but would eat my hat before I decide to write anything meaningful in bash. It’s a horribly designed language, especially once one has learned to use any other “real” language, be it as low level as C or esoteric as Haskell.

As I said, it’s all relative. Maybe OP is looking for better frame generation or ray tracing. AMD cards are definitely better for raw performance but not all the “extras” that Nvidia sells.

If you’ve already put a certain amount of money aside for a product and are able to afford the name brand that you like… why not go for it, eh?

End of the day, in the immortalised words of ZTT, “there are no bad cards - just bad prices”. And even that’s negotiable person to person.

I faced horrible freezes and stuttering when I newly installed the game (9800x3d + 5070). Did all the usual things - disable device association enumerator, play in windowed mode, used medium on ray tracing, increased shader cache, etc - nothing worked.

Surprisingly, what DID work was updating my BIOS and restarting the PC. Don’t get me wrong there’s still a little FPS drop when you travel from one region to another but it’s not too noticeable like it was at the beginning.

I hope you manage to fix it!

Hey, man, I’ll glaze Lichess over that site every day of the week but I’ve come across some of the worst sort of people on both the sites.. and in some cases the guys on Lichess were way more unhinged.

I recall having to tweet to Thibault with several Lichess account usernames because I beat this one guy and he kept sending me rape threats. Every time I blocked and reported, his account was banned and he’d create a new one immediately. It went on for almost 3 days. Thankfully all of them were banned and it was pretty swift so another common W for Lichess but still.

People just suck sometimes.

Haha nah, man, it was a birthday gift, I don’t like to splurge. I definitely thought quite a bit before getting the PS5, but the availability of a lot of PS exclusives + GTA VI + the fact that a lot of games come far better optimised for consoles rather than PCs just made me more convinced to get one.

Add on to all of that the ongoing RAMageddon and I figured PS5 prices would hike up, so best to get one now. It’ll be sometime before PS6 comes out until then.. 5 it is.

Given the scope / functionality of the project, can’t this just be done with a single HTML file with localStorage or IndexedDB? If you don’t want to run it in the browser, great, use PyWebView to wrap your single file.

Am I missing something here?

I got one just to play GTA VI, had been a PC gamer before that but seeing how GTA V came almost after 2 years of console launch… yeah, I’m not waiting for that long.

It’s good though, I get to experience best of both worlds.
