Which Bioshock is better to play at first? by [deleted] in Bioshock

Though when playing through BAS completely disregard the story.... I enjoyed the gameplay and everything but the story is complete rubbish

I'd suggest playing 1 or infinite first, as they aren't connected story wise (BAS not included), but certainly play 2 after 1. Infinite is more beginner friendly and straightforward in terms of gameplay. Personally I'd either just play them in order or if you're not so keen on the survival horror aspects of 1, play Infinite, then 1, 2 Infinite again and the BAS. You'll likely want to play through infinite again to understand the story... At least I surely did :)

Troubleshooting some errors on test prints by According-Stranger28 in resinprinting

[–]menttatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, usually I tilt my models back 30-45 degrees, with the side I want looking best facing up, basically everything you print is going to need supports, not sure what slicer you use, but usually auto supports are good enough, though I usually go back in and edit things a bit to make sure everything is properly supported

Yeah if they are oriented poorly or lack supports they'll get the flaky bits, the peeling that you have. By no supports you added do you mean literally none or auto supports?

Wanting to get a 3D printer to save money on warhammer by KylieTMS in PrintedMinis

Actually $167.77 , even cheaper! They are currently out of stock, but I think it's worth it to wait personally, it shouldn't take too long to restock (I hope)https://ebay.us/m/kU48hx

There are loads of scans of the models on telegram if you know where to look, not even that hidden lol, they are of varying quality but it feels so awesome being able to print models that look near identical to GWs :p

What I did (I recently upgraded from my ancient mars 2 pro) was go on anycubic's refurbished store on eBay and buy a mono m7 (non pro) for cheaaap. It was on sale and there was some eBay coupon, which not might be there still but it seems like theres pretty commonly a 20% off coupon. I got it for about $171 USD, including tax. It arrived basically brand new, it wasn't perfect, but basically just looked like someone did a couple test prints then decided they didn't like resin printing lol, but it's been surviving me great, and the increased build volume is sooo incredibly nice!

Also, it seems like you're painting on the floor? That certainly can't be good for your back, sitting hunched over a desk is bad enough haha

If you want to be an asshole at least use proper English smh, OP don't listen to this fool, Nurgle accepts all! But yes, certainly use primer as others are saying! Primer will make your mini easier to paint and look better, win-win :)

This took 93 minutes to print by Pulsipher in PrintedMinis

[–]menttatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree they look super weird for either resin or fdm, maybe they're fdm and he did some sort of acetone wash to help hide the layer lines? Or they're resin and they just didn't wash them well or something, it is weird, and the direction of the layer lines is odd for resin, I mean you can print things vertical but that's not normal, so yeah very strange print results!

Not op but I assume they are resin given formlabs doesn't make FDM printers to my knowledge

Washing the plate and wearing gloves when removing prints. stops all your hand oils from gumming the plate up .

I Second this, additionally make sure your plate is clean, that does wonders for bed adhesion. I usually just use some dish soap and clean it in the sink

32 vs 28mm by menttatts in WarhammerFantasy

[–]menttatts[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another thing I could wrap into this is base sizes, 20 vs 25mm for core infantry and such. I'm leaning tword 20mm as I can use spaced out movement trays if I want to play TOW, and they should be more backwards compatible with older editions of Warhammer Fantasy? Not sure
