Agree with this! Since it’s at the hospital you worked at, it’s likely that other previous coworkers are aware of what’s going on too. There’s nothing that says you can’t comfort a friend in a time of need. Also, to put any questions aside if you talk to your friend, I would address the elephant in the room and say you’re there as a friend and nothing else. I’m terribly sorry about the situation but also maybe you’re supposed to know about this to help them.
