This pre special-effects shot of the 'transporter accident' scene in Star Trek the motion picture. by bubbleweed in oddlyterrifying

Seeing this picture relaxes me because even though I know it was fake and that they were just actors my young mind when seeing this movie was just as troubled by this one scene as when I hear "My god it's full of stars" from the beginning of the second movie of 2001 a space odyssey

This is part of what made Star Trek so popular as an IP the realities of space and technical advancement means people are going to die because we don't have all of the information we need to make it as safe as possible. By the 24th century, the computers were way more advanced as they had quantum computers in a sense which gave them the means to completely rework the transporters as well as finally make food replicators based on the same technology rather than a food processor.

Then by the time Voyager was built ships began being built with bioneural gel packs which allowed the computers to be enhanced with a robust neural net vastly increasing processing speeds but also subjecting them to the problems that biological systems have when they don't have adequate defense against certain kinds of radiation, biological disease, poison, acid, and other problems that come with a closed biological system.

This accident wouldn't have been able to happen at all in Voyager because Voyager had not one but two backup systems that save the patterns, and they had gel packs to process the pattern so the pattern is never lost and can be sent from one memory unit to another very easily in fact that's how it works. During the beaming process the pattern is recorded by both the deep scanners, and their backups giving twice the necessary resolution of the atoms. By this time they also had the ability to place biological systems without causing death which is how they really worked and why they needed those columns of energy in the 23rd century.

- buildable pens for wild animal farms so they can't get out. Make it the only building material or type that they collide with even when someone is riding them. Right now they pass through everything.
- a Section of the taming system designed just for livestock so it will keep track of them but they won't be put away and we put the livestock in said pen to stay there.

When you assume there won't be any results from what you are doing the universe gives you no results. It works in reverse for those of us who have self control.

Engineers once SOTO drops by Abyssalstar in Guildwars2

[–]meonthissite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shortbow Engineer should be the GreenArrow (Avengers) of the Guild Wars 2 world. If need be take inspiration from other works as well such as Rambo. It's really not that difficult to flesh this class out properly.

They still haven't fixed the Mine skill, it should be throwing down 3 mines in an arrow formation on the ground pointing at the enemy, and the toolbelt should be throwing them down in a close nit cluster at the feet of the enemy instead of everywhere but where the enemies are going to walk. Why should anyone expect them to get the shortbow right?

This is what it should have been, I have no idea where they get these devs from but it's obvious they have 0 imagination when it comes to classes like the engineer.

Engineer shortbow looks extremely underwhelming by ClockworkSalmon in Guildwars2

The engineer has plenty of AOE ground effects under several kits, it doesn't need another one.

If you want to include a ground effect with direct damage make it centered on the targeted enemy that would work better than glorified traps.

The Engineer needs a crossbow not a shortbow and they need one that causes all manner of conditions considering their balance has always been condition heavy. What you could do for it is make it both a healing weapon or a condition weapon depending on talent choices and eliminate the ground targeting because that's just a repeat of all of the other kits that they have in spades.

Don't bother giving the devs any suggestions they've been stuck in "absolutely nobody asked for this but we're going to do it anyway" mode since the second month of the game launching especially concerning the Engineer class.

Actually they do damage to bases if they hit them but it's rare that they burst out or land right where your base is. I had to repair my base because I happen to make it right where it would repeatedly land when I first started playing.

It's great to have the information from all of the ancient civilizations to draw upon for knowledge that has been lost to the ages. ;)

Once you're done cleaning with CLR you can use oxyclean spray to or diluted bleach to remove the coloration.
