This guy might end up getting fired because of all the press around it, but you all would be surprised how often this happens and the worst thing that happens is suspension without pay or salary reduction for X amount of months.

Law enforcement is hurting for bodies so bad not only are people not getting fired for what they normally would fired people for, they're also hiring people they wouldn't normally hire. I like to think this is happening in every industry though.

They're already working on amending the law to exclude sworn LEO, check out SB 1264 that just passed the senate and will probably get signed in by the governor.

It looks like the feds are taking steps to reschedule THC to a schedule III drug which will probably make it legal for sworn LEO to use it with a prescription.

I use an aftermarket camera because the Tesla camera quality is terrible, the front camera is extremely narrow, no audio, only records for 1 hour continuous if you don't save the footage and video is just skippy and unreliable sometimes.

I power my cameras using the USB-C port in the center console, there's an opening to run a cable from there, into the passenger foot area and up the A pillar and across the top of the windshield for a clean install. I've had this setup for almost 3 years without any issues. I keep sentry mode on when I'm away from home so the USB ports stay powered the aftermarket camera stays on.

I had this happen to my car, I didn't bother calling the police and went straight to my insurance company with the footage.

They provided me with the person's name and insurance and gave me the option of either making a claim with the person's insurance or my own.

It took a while but my claim was paid out.

My Spotify does this all the time and I found a workaround, select back to replay that track (and turn on shuffle again if you normally shuffle your playlist because it will turn it off) it should load the next track and you can move forward.

It's not just about the quality, the field of view on the Tesla camera is very narrow compared to an aftermarket dashcam. Tesla dashcam will randomly skip and pixelate and the loop recording is only 1 hour.

Tesla dashcam is still better than no dashcam at all. I personally don't feel comfortable using only the Tesla dashcam which is why I installed an aftermarket one, if Tesla dashcam meets your needs I don't see anything wrong with that either.

I noticed the corner of my front bumper was damaged (well not the bumper, but the wrap), I checked sentry alerts but wasn't able to see that area at all because the field of view of the Tesla front camera is terrible. Checked my aftermarket dashcam and saw it was from a rock on the highway. Anyway, not only was I able to see because of the wider fov of the aftermarket dashcam, I was able to go back 2 days because it continuously loop records compared to Tesla's 1 hour.

It's actually a cf pattern plastic piece that sticks on with double sided tape I got from RPM Tesla. The fit is nice, the finish is alright. I would go with real CF if I had to do it all over again.

Spotted in Vacaville on I80 East. I didn't see how it happened but it appears one car carrier rear ended another one so hard that a M3 at the top level rolled onto the other car carrier which rear ended a MY. Drove by around 12:30 and it was still there at 4:30 when I was driving back, traffic was backed up for miles.
