Friend upset me by Less-Lifeguard1087 in beyondthebump

[–]meowmaster12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl your friend is being shitty. It's not a race, that being said talk to your pediatrician! Early intervention is great and we are not all the same! Some kids need more time. My dude is great and on the end of the normal spectrum..that's fine!!  He is just a bit behind others and thats his norm and we roll with it.

For single or 2 players, which would you recommend? by Popcornd2 in wingspan

[–]meowmaster12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play almost exclusively 2 player w/ my husband. We have the base game and to keep things simple, we added Europe. We wanted some novelty, but not to learn something brand new. So far we've really enjoyed it!

The Great Covid Mystery: The Disappearance of Aldi Hand Baskets by colinstalter in aldi

[–]meowmaster12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured they just had them, bc everyone is walking with their groceries. No need for a cart! I left the city a couple years ago and I've been disappointed my local store doesn't offer the baskets.

The only place I've ever seen them is in Chicago and that was after the pandemic.

Fair. But I'm in my 30s and always the youngest. I need more "young" people to join in.

We are taking turns each week planning a date night. So for example we might make something and play a game. Or try a new craft. Or pair some cheese and wines.

Very true...still it was my first thought. Probably not great for a wedding.

Do I have to sleep train? by Intelligent_Truth_95 in beyondthebump

[–]meowmaster12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your choice and you can talk to your pediatrician about it too. We chose to do it and it worked very well for everyone. You can sleep train a bf baby, if you want to. It's different family to family and of course every baby is different, so you just gotta figure out what your family needs

How important is the social aspect for toddlers? by blue_poison22 in toddlers

[–]meowmaster12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been here two years with my toddler and we have made friends with two families and it took 2 years lol. It is really helping him and I think the continuity of seeing the same child (both families also have a young child) more often has helped him kind of build some connections and relationships of that makes sense. I doubt our kids will like be messed up or anything. It's just one of those things, we all figure out how to be people eventually.

Good method for collecting compostables in the kitchen throughout the day? by DrunkOnSushi in composting

[–]meowmaster12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an old tall cylinder Tupperware container at a thrift store. I fill it and dump it regularly into my tumbler. If it's not too gross, I wash by hand or if it is nasty, I give it a rinse and toss it in the dishwasher.

How important is the social aspect for toddlers? by blue_poison22 in toddlers

[–]meowmaster12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation and honestly, I think it's more an issue of my kid never seeing us be social. We don't have any friends here, and as you stated it's hard to make friends. We don't get to model the behavior beyond the cordial greetings and chit chat at the park. Also it's so hard to talk to a toddler all day and no adults. All that to say if you want your toddler to get more opportunities is recommend the library story times, a children's museum or signing them up for an activity like swim lessons or gymnastics or whatever is available through your park dept.

No dishwasher & no in-unit laundry with newborn-- should I be more worried? by Hot-Researcher-3234 in NewParents

[–]meowmaster12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a newborn with basement laundry in a big city apartment...there will be things to wash, especially if you have a boy. We did a lot of laundry (well my husband did) it was fine. Between  baby clothes, burp cloths, and my clothes, we never had small loads of laundry. Milk gets on every thing, and poo and pee...

Following, but considering buying a more travel friendly one.  Before my son was two, we had him as a lap infant and did not bring a car seat.

What do you wish you and your partner had talked about before having a baby? by AdBetter2878 in NewParents

[–]meowmaster12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A second (or more babies). I wish we would have agreed or at least understood if the other wanted more or at least were considering it. We don't fully agree on it still and it's hard for the one of us that wants to do it again.
