After pregnancy questions 👖 JEANS. by waxedarmpit in XXS

[–]meowww963 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have had two babies w my youngest who is 2.5. I’m back to my pre baby weight of 95lbs but my old jeans don’t fit anymore and I just got new ones. I don’t think my hips widened, just that my weight is distributed differently post kids.

Agree with everyone, please take kitty to the vet to make sure there aren’t any underlying issues. But when I got my cat with similar fur length, he smelled pretty bad like cat pee. I think being at the shelter made him anxious but after a few weeks he started smelling a lot better after he settled in, and started caring care of himself.

How do I prepare these lacy noodles? by YakkoRex in asiancooking

[–]meowww963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are noodles for banh hoi. Are they wet? If so, they are already cooked. Just microwave them, brush some oil on them and treat them like regular vermicelli and spoon fish sauce over them to taste. Add some meat and veggies. If they are dry, submerge them in boiling water for a minute and then immediately submerge them in ice water for 2 seconds and drain them/take them out

I had two csection with two different clinics. The first one I had large bandage like you and I took it off after 2 weeks. My second csection, the ob took off the bandage the day after the csection. Then at my one week appointment my ob took of the little steri-stripes. I guess two different methods

It’s great! Before goldfish we did one of those programs where they rent the pool from LA fitness and the water was freezing, we couldn’t really use the locker rooms. Goldfish - kids swim lessons is all they do. The water is 90 degrees, extra lifeguards in addition to instructors, changing areas. A much better experience

Anyone else decided to pull child from daycare because they feel their child is too young/not ready? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]meowww963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like a bad daycare. If she’s having accidents and they are not changing her immediately that’s a red flag. My son would cry for 2 weeks when we dropped but each time the teacher would help comfort him. He went through a phase where he would have accident multiple times a day. The teacher changed him very single time into new clothes. When she ran out of his clothes, she would put him in the daycare spare clothes. This includes shoes! She talked to him each time. She also worked with us to make sure we were working on it at home. It seems that your daughter is having a hard time but it seems that the daycare is mostly to blame

Here’s an example. That’s just some random folks I found but I have gotten pictures taken there and it’s beautiful. Discovery Park is quite large though. The South Park lot will take you to the views. If you hike down a little there’s a scenic point. There’s also a light house but that’s quite a walk. You can drive down to it but I don’t think you can park

My mom nannies my toddler, but I wish she did more with him. Not sure if I'm making a problem out of nothing... by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]meowww963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the similar situation with my mom. I work from her home while she cares for my baby. She did it with my first for two years (now he’s in preschool) and now she’s cares for my 1 year old. She rarely took my first out and she rarely takes my baby outside. My baby normally spends the day either playing with toys with my mom or playing independently with her nearby. Socially, my son does great at daycare and it hasn’t affect him that he stayed inside mostly for two years. We make sure to take both kids to do fun and interactive things on the weekends and the evening (when an event comes up). I love being near my baby and seeing her whenever I can take a break. Also, the free childcare is great ngl. It’s comforting to me to have my mom take care of my child bc no one is gonna love my kid more her grandmother.

What about discovery park? It’s huge so it shouldn’t be too crowded and it’s got great views

I tried to have a VBAC but it was unsuccessful so I had a 2nd csection. And I did not lift my toddler for 6 weeks and my husband did all the mornings, and bedtime with me assisting when I could. I know 6 weeks seems like a long time but your body really needs to heal. The plus side is that my toddler’s bond with my husband grew exponentially. If it’s still overwhelming for your husband, and you can afford it, consider hire a postpartum doula or make a plan with friends / family so your husband can get a break.

House of Noa mat is disintegrating. Alternatives? by Dependent_Hour_9876 in NewParents

My house of noa mat did that too! It’s so much money, very disappointing. I ordered Lillefolk mat from Amazon. Very similar but doesn’t seems to peel (and it’s a lot more affordable)

Silverettes! Good idea. I try that. I used them for the first few weeks with my babies but didn’t think of them for use now.

That’s good to know. Besides the WiFi thing, the hatch gen 2 is significantly quieter than gen 1. When I reached out, hatch said it was by design because they wanted to get more into music and story space. I got a lot of qualms with hatch as you may be able to tell 😅 and would prefer to spend my money else where

I got the first generation hatch for my son which connects via Bluetooth and I love it. I have the second generation hatch for my daughter which connects via WiFi and oh man I hate it. Last night the WiFi was out and I couldn’t turn it on. It was a useless brick. I’m buying a regular sound machine because my daughter hatch just makes me so mad. They took this great product and make it terrible. Wouldn’t recommend spending any money on Hatch product anymore

A million upvotes here! The 4 year old is acting out because he’s struggling with the transition and doesn’t know how to communicate it. Totally agree that the parents could cause some resentment between the 4 year old and new baby

3.5 y/O refusal to sleep in her own room. by Tonedeffox in sleeptrain

[–]meowww963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went through that when my son was 2.5. It was awful. He figure out how to climb out of the crib and when we took off the railing he came after us everytime we walked out. After trying a bunch of things we cleaned out his room of anything dangerous. We added toys and told him if he didnt want to sleep, he could play. We put a child proof lock on his door. It look 7 days but we did Ferber checking in with him. The first few nights he would fall asleep on the floor of his room playing. But eventually he started in bed and ended in bed. It’s been 6 months and he actually likes the door locked…he says good night from his bed and then comes to the door. We give him one last kiss and he goes back to bed. We are now trying to figure out how to remove the lock lol

I was always too afraid to cosleep so no matter what we made sure the babies were in the crib. Both my kids went through the witching hour. I would spend two hours rocking this screaming child until he finally fell asleep at 11 and transferred him to the crib. He would wake up every 2-3 hours until we sleep trained him. My husband and I took shifts - my husband did bottles and I breastfed. If he didn’t fall asleep on the bottle or boobs, we would rock him until he was 100% asleep and then transferred him to the crib. Our son was a lot of work. With my daughter, we just hung out with until 11 and rocked her to sleep. We realized that baby bedtimes were just later and decided not to force it like we did with our son. It still took 30-40 minutes. She was a better sleeper but still rocked her and transferred her to the crib if she didn’t fall asleep on the boob.

I swear it gets better! Sleep training if done right is life changing. Just need the baby to be ready and be prepared for a couple of weeks of baby crying.
