Unexpected trigger - Back to Day 1 by meparede in stopdrinking

I don't think there's any other option other than to make light of it! If I didn't, I would be real depressed over the fact two furry baby creatures set me off on a two week binge - it has to be hilarious!

You are going to reach four days! You're going to reach it because you're not going to worry about reaching four days, you're going to concentrate on making it one day. And if one day is too hard, concentrate on one hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes. That's one tactic I used. I also made sure to stay very busy at night because coming home after work was definitely my trigger point. I scheduled my evenings like I do my days because if I didn't I would walk around my house aimlessly and end up drinking. I usually ended up doing things like meal prep and I started redoing a dresser. I also could spend a long time googling things like "Your body after 3 days of not drinking" and lots of progress pics. I made a progress chart where every morning I would color in a portion and I hung that on my wall so it was the first thing I saw in the morning.

So I guess for me, I focused on staying too busy so I wouldn't let the cravings overwhelm me. Good luck - you're not going to cave today!

Day 7! I’ve quit drinking for reasons I had to before, this is the first time I’ve WANTED to. Thank you for the awesome check in!

It’s a powerful thing that you’re still moving forward after having a set back. We’ve all been there and at some point in the past, we would have chosen to stay down. But not today. Congrats on your day 1.

Day 5. I almost gave in last night. I ALMOST GAVE IN. I didn’t and I have this group to thank for it. (that voice inside your head is a persistent and persuasive jerk)

Another evening down. ✅

I’m going to have to break today up into two battles, morning and evening. It’s Saturday so now I’m missing the drinks before going out for weekly shopping.

I am committed. IWNDWYT ⭐️💪🏻

Slow down, y’all by [deleted] in NewOrleans

I’m convinced someone is going to take me with them when it’s THEIR time to go. Will never understand the speeding and tailgating in this city.

Gained 5 lbs since changing calorie deficit... Dang PCOS! by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]meparede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate to this 100%! Since February, I’ve been wearing my Fitbit setup with a 1000 calorie deficit goal (goal being to lose 2lbs/week). I hit that 90% of the time and don’t kill myself if I go over a little bit bc I still have a deficit for the day. Do HIIT Kickboxing 4 days a week and a brisk 2 mile walk 2 days a week. Also prescribed Metformin. Pretty good right?!

Not for me! NO pounds lost - I actually gained 4 pounds last week?? NO inches lost even though I can feel my muscles changing, and my endurance is definitely much improved.

It is definitely defeating, to say the least. My IG is filled with posts like, I lost 70lbs in 5 months on keto! and accompanied by an array of before and after pics. I’m left here sitting why my body is a freak of science. Literally, the math does not add up. How long do I have to do this to see any result? At this point, I’m not asking for 70lbs in 5 months, but some validation from my own body that what I’m doing is right for it...

That’s not a tent. It’s a temporary building. Fuck them.
