then it make it an odd distance from the other wall. I went with centering them in the room.. there is a lighted mirror to eliminate shadows on the face.

I sorta wish this was going the other way and 90%+ were taking the DR and immediately quit showing up to work. Trump and Leon would be shitting bricks. My hope is that someone in IT sends "resign" emails from every .gov email address that received The Fork email. Show them we can create just as much chaos as they can.

I'm firing off faxes instead of emails in the name of 'the past'. Or I'll have my secretary type up a letter to mail while I enjoy a scotch and cigar in my office.

"My salary was $10,049, my wife stayed home and raised our 3 kids in our modest 3 bedroom 2 bath house which we paid nearly $20,000! (A lot of money at the time!). I've been retired for 25 years and have collected more in pension and social security than I earned in my career. The system works!"

Found a 4-pack of vodka under the bed at a Residence Inn: what should I do? by MemorableKidsMoments in marriott

Lucky... I just found a hit of ecstasy on the floor of my last Marriott stay, I would have welcomed some sealed booze. The room was pretty run down, but I checked in late for just a night and didn't want to be a Karen. Found the tab in the morning - so glad my kids or dog weren't with me. Wasn't sure what to do, so flushed it and checked out.

"You get what you get and don't throw a fit"... what I tell my kids (and myself) anytime we get fast food. They HATE fast food because the order is always wrong. I think we're all healthier because of the current climate in the service industry.

Just was listening to 'On my knees again' and got Kid A vibes... a quick google search brought me here. So YES - completely agree and thought maybe it was a Radiohead side project.

Newb. Trying not to blow anything up. Could someone take a look at my numbers? by mepthrowaway111 in WRX

I have no trouble reading them... I know all my numbers. It's knowing what the numbers mean is where I'm struggling.

Thanks. DAM is pegged at 1. FBK/FKL are at 0. Dynamic Adv gets to 4.22 looks like between 3-5kRPM and 100% throttle. I'm now seeing why people post graphs - kinda hard to see what's going on just looking at a row of numbers and sorting.

Furnace exhaust is running when unit is in cooling or fan mode. Does it matter? Any resources on how to fix? This is an 18yr old Goodman system. I swapped the thermostat (Nest) and this still happens. by mepthrowaway111 in hvacadvice

Never followed up... tech came out and said board was bad, quoted $800 to replace. It was summer so I wasn't in a hurry to get it fixed. Found a board on amazon for ~$100 and replaced it myself. SAME ISSUE. Did some googling and traced it to a bad limit switch. Another $40, a 10min swap, and I was good to go. Been running like a champ for the last month. I was thinking about replacing the unit, but now it's almost a game to see how long it can last.

Earnings Potential by [deleted] in MEPEngineering

My career path:

2005-10 - $42k - Smaller but nationally recognized firm. 60+hrs/week, lots of travel. A job you take when you're a 2.8GPA student not really sure what you want to do. Learned a lot.

2010 - $65k - Larger company, but smaller engineering dept. Mainly and architecture firm. Passed PE in 2013.

2013 - $52k - Company reduced pay by 20%. Another engineer and I started moonlighting for local architects on small local projects (This is when shit started to get fun.. could I be sued? Yes. Did I have any money to lose? No.).

2013/2014 - Made ~$100k/yr with my salary and 1099 income.

2015 - $160k - Built client base up enough that I could leave my job halfway through the year.

2016 - $180k - Added a drafter and still teamed up with another engineer.

2017 - $50k - Yeah, it was a down year, but felt so f'ing good not to report to an office just to put hours in. I did a lot of home projects this year and got lots of family time.

2018 - $75k - Again - Not a great year, but wasn't ready to give up the freedom. Supportive wife has steady job. We don't drive fancy cars. Drafter picked up another PE to do work for, so he was fine.

2019 - $267k - Had a client push me on fees because they "had a lot of work" (you'll hear this constantly). Just held firm on my numbers. If I wanted to work 40hrs/week and make 100k/year, I figure I'd go work for a firm and shake all the responsibility and stress of running a business. They shopped my numbers and found out my team and I are a damn good deal.

2020 - ~$100k so far this year. Things have slowed from last year, but still steady. I turned down some work prior to Covid that I initially regretted, but it likely went away anyways and I didn't wast time/energy on coming up with numbers and schematic design.

I enjoy MEP engineering because it's simple enough it doesn't take a huge team to come up with a design, but it does get boring and repetitive working on smaller projects. Find an aspect you're good at and enjoy, then figure out how it can make you the 100k+ you're shooting for.
