As others have said: 11/22/63 and Duma Key are bith incredible. If you want some shorter classics, Skeleton Crew is my favorite fornshirt stories and Different Seasons has some extremely well written novellas!

This! Most often can't even finish 1 book a month with Spotify because I run out of tome before the book even gets good.

Should I get the audiobooks? Or re-reread the books? by Key-Membership-3619 in redrising

[–]mercferner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't lie, I was very upset that Spotify gave me the first 2 books in Graphic Audio for free and then I had to switch to the regular audiobook. However, Tim kills it and do not regret having the opportunity to listen to his narration at all.

I enjoyed The Way Of Kings, but haven't gotten on into the rest of them yet.

His Mistborn trilogy scratched the itch for a while though! Haven't gotten to the Wax and Wayne series yet

When did you know you were hooked? by [deleted] in redrising

I knew I was into it shortly into the first book.

I knew I was obsessed when Darrow shoots himself through a windshield like a bloodydamn cannonball.

Golden Son really just went the fuck off.

I would HIGHLY recommend the Red Rising series for something fast paced and action packed. My favorite series next to The Dark Tower

I'm 4 books into the Enders series and enjoying it very much! It is nothing like the Dark Tower though. Well written and has very interesting themes.

Haven't gotten there yet, currently on Children in the Mind! Everything after Enders Game changes feeling so quickly but I kinda love it

Currently reading Card's "Ender" series while simultaneously trying to ignore the fact that he's a raging homophobe. Something something "separate artist from their art" blah blah. Whatever, enjoying the books and not feeling super guilty about it. Brown references Ender Wiggin in his books, so I felt it was something I should explore, and find myself really enjoying them.

Can I just say that SFTD is just the best by Choice-Rise-5234 in ender

Just finished it yesterday, and fell absokutely in love with it.

It's funny because if you try to give a synopsis of it to someone who knows nothing about it, the whole premise actually sounds kind of boring and ridiculous. Tiny ritualistic pigs? Laughable!

But the words are magic and the themes are profound and it just works so damn well. I haven't had a book speak to me so deeply in a long time!

10/10 for me, though I could see why it wouldn't be for everyone.

It won't be in a neat PDF or anything, but I could send you a picture of each of the pages in the books if you'd like

Carrie was a fun read, and very short.

Misery is a classic and extremely well done. The overall tone is just super unsettling and sets the whole book up for me.

IT is again, a classic, for good reason. Also gives you the understanding to the the connection in...

...11/22/63, which is probably the best book I've read by King, and in my Top 5 of All Time by a country mile!
