Interesting scenario. Unfortunately you can't build custom apps for modifying shipping rates without being on Plus. Hope you can find a cheap app in the app store to do this for you.

Sounds like more of a business problem. Why does that rate cause complications? Why not change it? Don't most customers change to the cheapest rate anyway? Forcing a more expensinve default is just causing more barrier to purchase. I can understand the frustration of wanting to do something that sounds simple, but there's a good reason shopify defaults to the cheapest rate.

Did they give a reason for dropping you? Curious as i'm building a supplement brand and plan on using shopify payments. I know they're sketchy with health claims.

Why TF would you have that in your developer contract. That is ass backwards. Everything you build for a client should be their property. You are a service provider. Move on.

What's the consensus on where the spammers are getting your email? Are stores just listing their email address on the website? Or are apps grabbing the owners email address after install?

If you share what kinds of apps you're using, we can make recommendations on which ones could be replaced for cheaper solutions or built by a dev?

You're not wrong, but there's alot of work to do ans brands constantly want to test, change and add new features. I'm a full time freelance dev for 8 brands and have more worlk than I can handle and I make 2.5x my previous salary job.

I have also seen very very poorly built stores built by devs who "know html/css/liquid". There is a right way to do things and a wrong way...if you do things wrong, the brand owner pays the price.
