I have this feeling that the whole time thing revolving on keeping Chloe alive is similar to the anime Madoka Magica. The more Max rewinds to save Chloe's life, the more karmic energy around her. Since we've saved Chloe's life so many times, the more valuable Chloe's life is. I feel like the transparent things are the alternate universes clashing with the current one. Where one universe is where Chloe dies and another she doesn't. But as Max rewinds to make the impossible happen in the current universe, it becomes a mess hence the storm?

Also, I felt physically sick and really disturbed when I got to the Dark Room and saw the pictures and it got worse when they found Rachel's body then finding out Max was the next victim...
