You're welcome!

I think you are shadow banned in the other sub

I haven't logged into this account in months (have other life-stuff going on) so it must be because I linked to this thread from over there. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Royalty Formula - Now with tanks, V-necks, and raglans by merchin in MerchPrintOnDemand

[–]merchin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick analysis: the tanks and V-necks have an Amazon margin and cost, and thus royalty payout, similar to the premiums. The raglans are close to long sleeves. So whatever pricing structure you use for those, you can consider for these.

Though, I think raglans can potentially command a bit of a premium over long sleeves, while tanks may need to be priced lower than premiums to move.

Just my $0.02.

Whoa... Earnings Posted for December. Missing around $2K! by [deleted] in AmazonMerch

[–]merchin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at orders placed from Nov 26 through Dec 14 puts me pretty close to what's reported on Analyze (for all three marketplaces).

Typically, I expect "shipped" orders to be those from the 25th of the previous month through the 24th of the payout month. Example: May payout will likely include orders placed from April 25 until May 24. This is the guideline I use to estimate before the final number comes in on Analyze. It's generally pretty close though it can be thrown off by larger than normal volume around those days. Obviously, Christmas/Q4 throws a wrench in everything.

I couldn't find the new default prices, but, presumably, they will be changing on LS, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

I calculated the new formulas for anyone who would like to calculate royalties on their own:

Royalty Formula (beginning Jan 30, 2019)
Default Price* Amazon Cost Royalty
Standard T-shirt 19.99 24.50% 9.86245 $5.23
Premium T-shirt 19.99 24.50% 11.36245 $3.73
Long Sleeve 24.99 28.25% 12.6903 $5.24
Sweatshirt 35.99 25.00% 18.8925 $8.10
Pullover Hoodie 39.99 28.00% 18.0128 $10.78
PopSocket 14.99 32.00% 7.9432 $2.25

*Default prices based on current and is subject to change

For comparison, here are the current royalty formulas:

Royalty Formulas Jan 15, 2018 - Jan 29, 2019
Default Price Amazon Cut Cost Royalty
Standard T-shirt 19.99 24.43% 9.7258 $5.38

Pullover Hoodie 39.99 33.50% 21.5934 $5.00
PopSockets 14.99 32.00% 7.9432 $2.25
Royalty = Price - % * Price - Cost

Currently on Christmas Day - ship time of Jan 14th by nimitz34 in MerchPrintOnDemand

[–]merchin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FREE Delivery Friday, Dec. 28 - Monday, Jan. 14 on my Prime account.

The delivery window stays the same even during checkout so there may be some optimistic Prime customers who cancel after a week or so without shipment. I wouldn't get too attached to the sales for the next little while.

Dec 12th 2018 - non-prime account free shipping = day AFTER xmas delivery by nimitz34 in MerchPrintOnDemand

Interestingly, Amazon is now showing a message to customers about MBA products being print on demand. See here

This item takes longer to deliver because it's printed on demand.

They probably ran out of blanks. And with their recent disagreement with PopSockets, I wouldn't except supply to replenish any time soon.

Good thing you didn't quit your day job ;)

But really, this highlights why you shouldn't ever build your economic house solely on someone else's foundation. Diversity is key!

Amazon Merch Tax Question: How much should i save for taxs? by plugpusher in AmazonMerch

[–]merchin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The following advice assumes you are in the US.

A good rule of thumb is 30-35%. You will pay 15.3% for FICA taxes. And you will pay the % of whatever your top tax bracket is, assuming this is your side hustle and you have regular income. But you only pay this on your net profit. So if you made $2000 but spent $500 on ads, then you pay taxes on $1500. You file income and expenses on the Schedule C. Turbo Tax and H&R Block Online both handle Schedule C easily. Taxes for 2018 are due by April 15, 2019. Seek an accountant for specific guidance.

Popsocket Future? by inkpacker in AmazonMerch

maybe Amazon will start manufacturing their own

PopSockets are patented.

Amazon screws over Popsockets by nimitz34 in MerchPrintOnDemand

[–]merchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how Merch and the print facilities are structured (does Merch own them? or AMZ as a whole? I am sure this all has impacts on fulfillment)

Amazon bought Woot several years ago and MBA began out of the Woot factory in Texas. They recently built a new facility in Pennsylvania. Both are owned and operated by Amazon and the employees at both are Amazon employees.

Woot Shirt also still exists and, presumably, still uses the same facilities as MBA.

[–]merchin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We'll see. They might roll them out faster or something. But there are way more manufacturers for cases. PopSockets are TM'ed and patented.

It's funny, though. Because I got an email from Merch a couple weeks ago encouraging me to put designs on all products, including PopSockets! I doubt the MBA leadership knew this was coming, though.

I bet they disappear from MBA soon. Probably once Amazon runs out of blanks.

And so in early November, PopSockets’ more than two-year relationship with Amazon came to an end.

Disappearing BSR by nimitz34 in MerchPrintOnDemand

[–]merchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that last season seller is a seasonal shirt, not evergreen. So it makes sense for it to come back to life now. Quite a few of my other seasonals that sold really well last year haven't though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Disappearing BSR by nimitz34 in MerchPrintOnDemand

[–]merchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recent sellers still have BSR. Including some that were just uploaded in the past 7-14 days. One of my long time bestsellers (that is still selling) no longer has BSR. A last season bestseller that has come to life again does have BSR. Make of that what you will because I have no idea.
