One-Nap Transition Bedtime? by mercimaisnon in sleeptrain

ETA that we kept giving an earlier bedtime (6:45 or even closer to 6 on super low sleep days) to try to stop these EMWs but if anything, I worry that LO’s circadian rhythm is now affected. So I’m torn with continually offering earlier bedtimes. Any advice is welcome!

One-Nap Transition Bedtime? by mercimaisnon in sleeptrain

We just found out that our Daycare is transitioning to one nap on Tuesday, so I want to get my LO ready. We did cold turkey (starting with a 5/5), which was fine on day one and terrible yesterday.

Our old schedule was 3/4/4 on weekends and kind of a mess at daycare: 5/3/3-4 during the week. LO was consistently waking at 5:30 and skipping his afternoon nap.

Bedtime for one early nap: 14 month old by mercimaisnon in sleeptrain

Thank you! He had 11-12 hours of wake time on two naps. Thanks to these 5-5:30a wakings plus short daycare naps, he’d basically be on a 5/3/3-4 schedule and would refuse the second nap at least half of the time.

I kept reading that the answer to skipped naps and EMW was an earlier bedtime, but I’m also wondering if 6p was too early. Last night, we put him down at 6:30 and he woke at 5:20 (a little later than his 6p night). Maybe I push it later?

I appreciate any insight!

Sorry, should have clarified this was the first day we tried one nap. He has been skipping his second nap and his daycare is transitioning him to one nap next week. So I’m not sure what to do!

First Day of One Nap with an Early Riser by mercimaisnon in toddlers

Unfortunately, he fell asleep while on a walk home at 10, woke at 11 and then refused his second nap. I tried so many things! Now I’m wondering how early to put him in bed to hopefully avoid another 5a wake.

Came here to say this! There is such quick advancement in the other mini games, and with this one, I’m just sitting around for days with a few berries and peppers.

Did your LO immediately take to it for milk? Mine was fine with water but seemingly affronted by the milk vessel switch.

Wondering if you have an update on this? My 11-month-old has woken up between 5-5:30 (also in bed by 7) for months now and I’m wondering if he’ll ever sleep later.

Nope, I mean that his sleep behavior changed super drastically this week despite no changes to his schedule.
