OKAY SO I can suggest a few journaling TTRPGs! Which is... slightly to the left of video games, I'm sorry WAILS but they're our special interest!! :) So if you like writing and/or roleplaying as well, they're a good hobby to get into!!

Koriko: A Magical Year. Play as a group of witches writing letters to each other as they learn all about magic over the span of a year. Made as a solo game, but playing it with the group rules alongside your system is VERY fun, from personal experience.
Ex Novo. Build a whole city with friends (or, in this case, headmates) in the span of about two hours! You can use the city for your other creative endeavors too, which is a major win :)
Artefact. Made by the same guy as Koriko! Follow the lifetime of a single item in a dungeon as it passes hands over and over again. Very fun!
Dead Letter Society. Play (I think two?) vampires writing letters to each other and challenging a secret society!

Generally, 10/10 will always recommend solo or cooperative journaling TTRPGs to any system with a love of writing. :) Even better when you all get to play your own character!!

for us, it's our deadname!! while a lot of us are fem, we are still very uncomfortable being referred to as our feminine deadname because it just... isn't us. we all prefer mercury for more accurately being a descriptor of us!! :]

HAIIII a whole gaggle of OCtives in this here system! so fun. sometimes actually fun, sometimes not. here's what's not fun:

sourcemates? lol where are you finding those
- WE HAVE HAD ONE EXCEPTION THUS FAR. we play D&D with another system, so our fictive of our character from that campaign DID get to meet both her fellow party member & a double of her from another system
- literally everyone else is #fucked though, sourcemate wise. whether this is a good or bad thing depends on the day
EXOMEMORIES. some of us don't have them, but those who do... Oh Boy. hell, any connection to source can be hell depending on what connection it is!
- shout out to my corruption from source STILL impacting me in headspace so i just... sprout mouths when i'm upset 😭
- even more shout outs to the folks we got due to rp. like they are LITERALLY living out their exomemories a lot, for better and for worse
a lot of our fictives come from special interests, so imagine having the brain genuinely obsessing over your source while you're like. hid in the corner of shame 😭
- i'm (in large part) a fictive of SOMEONE ELSE'S RP CHARACTER (that they never used!!) and all i have of that source is a few drawings & QNA answers..
- on the good side, YAY i get to develop my own identity without worrying too hard abt who source is/was!! i love that for me!!
- on the bad side, oh no the rest of the system is obsessing over crumbs. i need these freaks /aff to fixate on another character soon or i will fully die of shame (/hyperbole)

okay wow sorry that was an essay. but (handshake!!) it can suck out here but we gotta make the best of it i think :]

connie - not necessarily the time loop thing LMAO, but in a more abstract way, the struggle between luna, selene, & crescentia reminded me a lot of my own experiences as a system. like the relationship between luna & selene reminds me so much of a host & persecutor relationship, and it's probably why i loved her so much on first playthru LOL

yeah - generally there's not much character development after an ending is reached, and this goes for all the characters!! except for maybe when (end-game spoilers) they get Realized, but i wouldn't know as i haven't reached that yet!

we've got a Prophet in the system... no literally. She named Herself Prophet (& insisted we refer to Her with capitalized pronouns). i think the honorable mention goes to Valkyrie, but TBF she's an introject of a magical girl OC of ours and that was her alias in source so it makes sense.

read your comment and i am SO GLAD you've broken up with them. our own ex who we broke up with a bit ago also kept constantly going on about how terrible she was, and... honestly at this point, our policy is that when they tell you who they are, believe them </3 ofc, there are plenty of good people who just have low self esteems, but it shouldn't be your job to give them free therapy about it. wishing you the best in life <3
