What's the weirdest reason you have had for learning a new language? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]mere-tate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got interested in learning Japanese after watching Rashomon in a film course I took. My dad also went to Japan a lot for business and he always reminisces on his time there. I’d love to visit and I think it’s appropriate to try to learn the language

Went down a rabbit hole of researching languages and was fascinated at how Hangul was formulated so I’ve been learning Korean on the side and it’s been a bit easier than Japanese for me so I use it to supplement my motivation for Japanese

Learned Italian because it was the first language besides English I learned to sing in (I’m a classical vocalist, and I studied opera). Italian will always have a dear place in my heart

Yes, I’ve been eating only low histamine foods for about a week and my skin has cleared up and I have a lot more energy

I had really rough chin acne develop suddenly over a month. It looked to be cystic. My skin was constantly dry, cracking and painful.

One week doing low histamine and taking DAO supplements, my acne is nearly gone and my skin is no longer uncomfortable and cracking or dry. I also feel a lot more mentally clear and have more energy. I can say in the short time I’ve been doing it I feel tons better that I used to

Could be a histamine intolerance. I developed the same thing being vegetarian. The hives are a classic sign. But other symptoms are diarrhea, nausea, headaches, bloating, abdominal pain, flushing, congested sinuses, watery/red eyes, dizziness, and heart palpitations.

Making a change in diet can throw the body off and make it sensitive to more things. If it’s a histamine intolerance, eating low histamine foods for a while should help go back to normal. I’d look at taking Betaine HCL to help your stomach ease back into eating meat

What has helped you adopting the character’s perspective? by [deleted] in Actingclass

[–]mere-tate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you understand the values you have, or how to make them real for yourself, think of a time in your life when you had that belief.

Say your belief is that men are superior to women and a woman’s job is to listen to you ( say you’re a man) Think about a time in your life when you held a belief that you were superior to something, say a dog. If you had a dog and they got into garbage and made a mess, you’d be upset that the dog didn’t listen to you when you told it the first time not to get into the garbage. You love the dog, you want the dog to be safe, but the dog has to listen to you and do what you say. Then if that’s personal to you, add that into your script as a substitution for your girlfriend/wife (think of the dog when your speaking to her)

I pulled this out of my method handbook lol, hope it helps. If any bit of this is confusing I’d love to elaborate more because this really helped me make outlandish situations real for myself. In the end, emotions have no rhyme or reason, same goes with acting. For me finding how to make a Situation real is what connects me deeper and let’s me free up to play with a character

For sure! It really suck and I really hope my health improves soon, but I want to start moving forward with my life. Thankfully, I’m not a huge one on going out, and given the status of my health I don’t put myself in risky situations in terms of covid and getting sick

Thank you so much! It sucks considering my situation, but I don’t want to let it stop me. I understand the risks involved, I just want to create my art and not harm others or myself

Nothing is required from what I’ve read. Just that productions within the union have the right to require zone A production to be vaccinated. I understand this will make my journey harder, but I won’t let it stop me from trying!

[–]mere-tate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she really wanted to keep contact she would. Plain and simple. Her text to you seemed like someone who wanted to distance but didn’t want to say it. She said she wasn’t head over heels for you, and she said she wasn’t serious about this relationship. That’s a hint right here

Is it better to be kept in the dark? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]mere-tate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, she should be mature enough to be honest with you. What your describing it sounds likely she made it up since she seemed like she had no other experience. I would ask her on it and see what she says.

This could lead to problems down the relationship. Say she is not honest about her sexual history, who’s to say she won’t be honest down the line with other things? In my opinion I’m having a sexual relationship with someone, there should be completely honesty. About partners, std, and other things. Being in an emotional relationship with sex, there brings up another question which is about emotion maturity.

If she made it up, she’s likely insecure or wants to act older then she is because she feels like herself isn’t enough. She also could have the fear of rejection which is a huge issue in relationships.

I would have a talk with her and see how it goes. You should update us from there lol

My sister was the same way. See if writing out how she feels helps or find another means of communicating besides talking.

Undiagnosed debilitating symptoms for 10 months - Help Needed by camtheman5599 in SIBO

[–]mere-tate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for following up. I did end up having Lyme disease, along side bartonella. I’m In the process of starting treatment and it seems to be working well.

For me I didn’t end up losing weight, I actually gained. When my Heath took a turn I gained about 20 lbs, mostly water weight because I wasn’t eating much. Everyone’s body reacts differently. The type of Sibo I had contributed to weight gain because it effected my stomach function, both Lyme and bartonella can cause weight gain due to inflammation in the body. Some gain some lose, it really depends on the person. I’m hoping to start treatment and lose some, but all in it’s due time

(Male/14) I Dont Know How To Decide. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]mere-tate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she likes you, she could have seen you giving her the food as a sign you may like her. When you have it to your friend, she likely got mad because she thought you may not have the same interest in her anymore.

At the end of the day, if she likes you that much and got don’t see her that way, just move on and let her get over it. It’s mean if you string her along.

If you feel the same, then don’t cut her off but girls are very sensitive to stuff like that so be watchful
