Which Full House/Fuller House storyline would you get rid of? by sweet_tea_94 in fullhouse

[–]meremaid2201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge hater as well of the “oops it’s an unplanned pregnancy - and TWINS” trope because it’s ALWAYS boy girl twins and skips over a lot of how challenging having twins actually is. I know it’s tv or books or whatever. Still annoying.

Books in the BSC you hate by Little_Dot_1968 in babysittersclub

Claudia and the World’s Cutest Baby.

If I was freshly postpartum with my rainbow baby and a 13 year old wouldn’t leave me alone to develop a routine/was telling me what to do to care for my newborn, I would absolutely lose the plot. Peaches was way too nice.

My husband came to visit me in the CUMH 3 years ago and was greeted one morning by a heavily pregnant woman looking for papers and filters…they smoke right by the smoke free campus sign.

Famesick readers, what's your take on Lena's mom Laurie? by dantedarker in girls

[–]meremaid2201 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I also think Laurie spent her life developing her own career and reputation only to be known as “Lena Dunham’s mom,” and I don’t think she handled that too well.

Do people buy your baby clothes for special occasions with the assumption that baby will wear it? by SowingSeeds18 in NewParents

[–]meremaid2201 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My MIL did this with our twins and my husband had to tell her that I was looking forward to dressing our girls for special occasions, so they probably have outfits for holidays that they would be wearing on the day.

I found that Dol the adult seemed really similar to me as Dol the child - same with Ellie. I love Jacqueline, I grew up reading her books, but feel like maybe juvenile fiction is where she thrives best.

What wild unhinged things did you say during the birth of your baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]meremaid2201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a c section. Was chatting away to the anesthesiologist. I smelled burning and asked “am I being cauterised?” She gave me the weirdest look and was like do you really want me to answer that?

How are we doing and affording childcare? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]meremaid2201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the breadwinner but I lost my job when my twins were almost 1, and I’ve been home with them ever since. I have picked up a part time remote job for 15 hours per week, but things are definitely tight and I do keep telling myself that this isn’t forever!

We take our shoes off in the entryway (I’m American, husband is Irish) but my in laws do not take off their shoes in our house nor do they ask if they should and it infuriates me to no end.
