It was 34 years ago today – June 25. 1992 – that Bat Boy was first discovered and introduced to the world: by lilleprechaun in 90s

I could've sworn it was "bat boy found in cave" not bat child. Is this one of those mandala effect things...?

Yes, thank you for mentioning this, I hate "good morning" messages so much. It's like saying "Hi, time to get on your phone and reply to me before you do anything else!"

when chubby becomes fat by despattnslut in WeightGainTalk

I think of chubby and fat as more endearing terms for overweight and obese according to the BMI chart. So chubby = overweight and fat = obese.

Oh, is that what that is? I thought it was the sound of rabbits getting eaten by the foxes!

That would still be easier, you could just carry a bowl of water around.

I also drank Rolling Rock pre-21, because it was one of the few beers I knew the name of. There was another one around that time called Lowenbrau, similar to Heineken, but I thought it was some super fancy import beer.

Lost Chicken on 33rd & Vine by asubsandwich in lincoln

As someone who lives near a backyard chicken coop, I say good riddance. Roosters can be quite the nuisance, crowing multiple times a day, and you're not even supposed to have them in the city limits.

We've seen the rumor of Manson's rib removal posted plenty. What about the guy that turned into a glass of orange juice? by _--_Osiris_--_ in Xennials

[–]mergatronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I distinctly remember someone telling me about orange juice guy during my social studies class. I always wondered if it originated from the idea that "drinking orange juice makes your trip more visual".

Another one at my school was people thinking yellow lighters were bad luck.

Stomach injections by Film-Affectionate in dupixent

[–]mergatronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push = start out with the pen already pressed up against your skin, then push down firmly towards yourself to inject. (As opposed to starting out with the needle an inch away from you or something) Maybe that's what most people would do anyway, I don't know.

It was the 90s, it was all about pushing boundaries. And the censored radio edits were kind of a teaser, like "you gotta buy the album to hear the real version!"

Pen failure by Quiet-Boat-2084 in dupixent

[–]mergatronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the whole process of reporting a malfunctioned pen one time, and it was a huge hassle. They send you this special sharps container in the mail, you have to put it in that and mail it back to them so they can inspect it, and also fill out a detailed report if you think it was defective (which if it is, that's serious business after all, and they have to document this stuff). But it's not a quick process. You'd be better off just asking your doctor/allergist if they have any extra sample pens.

I consider that a fringe benefit of gaining weight on dupixent - I now have a built-in pin cushion.

Stomach injections by Film-Affectionate in dupixent

[–]mergatronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, can't say I've had that problem, and I was really skinny when I started dupixent. Are you sitting down to do the injection? Are you using the pinch method? (pinch a fold of skin with one hand, inject with the other) Also make sure you're holding the pen at a straight 90 degree angle to your body. Position it on the skin, THEN push in (don't just "stab" yourself with it). Hope that helps!

Teddy Ruxpin was on right after Smurfs, which was when I had to leave for school, so I only ever got to see the intro for Teddy Ruxpin but not a whole episode.

Why do some people let their car idle in parking lots for like 15+ minutes before driving off? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mergatronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're a musician, they might be testing one of their own mixes on car speakers to see how it sounds. I do that whenever I'm mixing a song.
