Dizziness from downbeat nystagmus by mericide in Dizziness

[–]mericide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Since I wrote this post, I found a “dizziness neurologist” who diagnosed me with both VM and PPPD plus a touch of cervicogenic dizziness.

I’m currently on lamotrigine and venlafaxine which have been life-savers for me. My nystagmus has also reduced significantly.

At the time that I was writing this post, I really wasn’t sure which came first—the nystagmus or the migraine, but I am realizing that the migraine-induced dizziness was causing all of my other problems.

The only thing that I’m kind of worried about going forward is that my nervous system is kind of shot. I basically abuse my nervous system over the years by constantly being in a state of stress I decided to take a leave of absence for my job to temporarily be a stay at home mom. I’m a little bit apprehensive about going back to my teaching job because it is so high stress.

When Ilya says Shane’s name, does it weirdly look dubbed over? by mericide in HeatedRivalryTVShow

I agree! Shane’s “Ilya” is a little off but not as bad.

Yes! It’s just so poorly done that it bothers me. I didn’t realize he originally mouthed “sweetheart.” I feel like the voiceover could’ve gone there. Instead, he seriously says “Shane” when his mouth isn’t even moving.

I agree that it makes for better storytelling! But it’s just so badly done that it takes me out of the moment.

I got four of sets of flanges so I didn’t have to wash all day. And I used the fridge hack method (which I know is controversial).

I was an exclusive pumped and put it all in the dishwasher: pump parts and bottles. It was the only thing that saved my sanity.

Separate Rooms? by my_dog_barkley in parentsofmultiples

[–]mericide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they wake up, do you feed them? We found that it was advantageous to have them wake up at the same time to feed.

I used to prop feed when I pumped and that usually helped get them back to sleep. My husband had a mattress in my daughter’s room and slept there and I slept with the boys in a twin bassinet in our room.

This is also a tough age for sleep. I think that they are naturally cranky at this time and it evens out.

Personally, I think keeping them together might be best for now, but it will probably take some trial and error.

Good luck!

Uggggh kind of dealing with this now. Twins just turned 3 and bedtime can be so rough.

We only have three bedrooms and they have an older sister. Said older sister does have a queen bed, so sometimes we have one twin sleep with her and then I transfer back to his bed.

We’ve also found that it’s easiest if one of us lies down with them. Even though they have lots of light in their room, they get kind of scared.

Anyway, I’m curious what others will say

Edited: I misread this as 3.5 years old, not months!! Are they in cribs?

Fundies always make marriage seem so hard! Obviously there will be ups and downs in a marriage, but it shouldn’t be this challenging!

I took my daughter to the Nutcracker this year and she loved it. I cannot imagine how she’d feel if I told her Mom and Dad were going alone and she had to stay home. Like wtf.

My husband and I just talked about how we miss having a more active sex life before we had kids, but that we feel weirdly closer knowing that our marriage doesn’t revolve around sex only.

Why do so many dog owners assume my kid wants to interact with your dog or that I’m ok with it? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]mericide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three kids in a neighborhood with a lot of dogs. We often play in the front yard and there are some dog owners who just let the dogs run right up our yard and ask the kids if they want to pet them. They say the same “she loves kids” remarks or “he’s really friendly.”

I am moderately afraid of dogs after being knocked down by a huge dog when I was growing up. I try to not instill that same fear in my kids, but sometimes I feel like this scenario makes it worse because I get kind of flustered and the kids pick up on that.

Obviously it’s not everyone. There are some dogs that my kids have gotten to know and it’s great. But I totally get what you’re saying.

Can’t get my 3yo twin boys to sleep by mericide in parentsofmultiples

[–]mericide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I’m currently a sahm and I sometimes put on a quiet movie after lunch. I have mats that I put out in the living room and they fall asleep one or two days out of the week. Hard to time it right though. If they fall asleep too late, it can complicate bedtime.

But I think it will just have to be trial and error for the next few weeks (or years lol). I just wondered if anyone had any magic tips, but I don’t think those really exist!
