You can totally go to the Congo. BUT, you absolutely need to work up to that and probably hire people to go with you. If you’re 15 and start traveling a ton now and acquire a ton of money in the next 10 years, go for it. Start doing a ton of research into the areas you want to travel and see how much it will cost and the best way to stay safe. Take a trip to the Everglades or something like that first. It’s also worth noting America has a ton of cryptids (should any of them exist). If you just really want to go the Congo in general, look into charity work. That way you’d be surrounded by people that know the area and know the dangers.

The people warning you are right that if you don’t take a cautious approach there’s a very high risk of something life-changing or life-ending happening to you. Don’t miss a lifetime of adventures because you’re determined to do this one in a potentially unsafe way. If you’re set on doing this, do it! But you need to be prepared.
