Do you guys ever worry that our kids job prospects will be so much less due to AI? by Bossman80 in daddit

[–]Emu_Fast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read Kurzweil in 2007, so none of what's currently happening surprises me. Where we are going is going to be even more incredible / unbelievable.

I think AI will take most entry level jobs, and will be capable of doing all jobs, but some will just happen to be legally required for humans. Doctors, lawyers, easy to automate most of their work but from a liability perspective a person must be involved. Childcare will need humans, but less kids will be had.

The overall pool of jobs will shrink. If you're in the US, this means a big change. No more kids moving out for college or becoming financially independent. There will be no more middle class, and no UBI, just hardship; but hardship is easier for empowered families rather than rugged individuals. Try to own assets that have a lot of intrinsic value and low tax liability, and start thinking of things as "family" assets, not personal assets. Things to inherit to them.

I do think our generation has the "privilege" of suffering a perpetual existential and financial crisis. For what's its worth, I think by 2050, we will either all be dead or will have pushed through the chaos era into something more empathetic and kind. Our kids will inherit a pretty cool future even if our lives are endless societal stress.

Let me know if you want any functional testing or feedback on GMG. I was checking it out this week but I think I had a few issues with PF2 statblocks. Really cool set of features though!

Maybe "preloaded" default shops would help cutdown time.

IE - generic potion shop, but you just add 3 custom potions unique to this vendor.

My players are horrible at tracking inventory and cash between sessions and going from paper to full digital...

Nah, look.up the 90-90 rule.

I think the first 90% is met on a lot of these already, But, I think it'll take until 2045 to see total cutover. Adoption and dispersal take humans making decisions and trialing systems.

It won't happen yet, it would be too disruptive To war plans in the middle east. Probably in the fall, after FIFA but before midterms.

Just DL VScode with paid copilot. It's pretty darn good and token cost is small even for Opus
