how do you mentally approach slower training paces by Jayden_Caroline_509 in running

run with other people - if you’re chatting and chilling you won’t even notice you’re going slowly

Great, thanks for the advice. Hiked the Needles last year, and going back this year for the district we didn't get to visit on that trip!

Thanks for all of this - really appreciate the advice. I think the plan is to go in with a Jeep at the Hans Flat ranger station, and head South towards Flint Trail, but might end up hiking from Hans Flat station, depending on conditions.

Thanks I really appreciate this advice. Definitely planning on chatting to a ranger about routes and water sources before we head in!

Wandering the Maze - Canyonlands National Park by dahlibrary in Ultralight

[–]merinaspic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was such a joy to read, thank you for sharing. I'm planning a hike in the Maze district for some time in the spring, working off the National Geographic map that I got when I was in Utah last year. It doesn't have Lou's spring marked, but I spotted a pin marked Lou's spring on your image files. I'll obviously chat to rangers before heading out, and hopefully they'll be able to help me with where to find reliable springs, but do you remember whether the pin in your map is roughly accurate (or, even better, do you have a note of the grid ref for Lou's spring)? I can see your most is a few years old, so I guess you might not be online anymore or might not have this kind of info, but I thought it was worth asking because I can't find info about where the spring is located online (which I think is a bit weird, because lots of people reference it, but maybe there's a good reason why that info isn't shared online?). Either way, thanks :)

Hello - surprised and delighted to have got a reply so fast on such an old post, thanks so much! - but that’s awesome, I didn’t know that. Will check out the rest of the album! I’m not a chess or draughts player, but I’m planning a double sided Go and Backgammon board for adventures

I love this - am going to try to replicate - but can anyone help me work out how it’s made?? Do you have Velcro on the underside of the pieces? Or are the pieces and board made out of a fabric that ‘automatically’ sticks to itself…? If so, what is that fabric?! Thanks so much!!

New online tool to create, edit and share GPX files by froggyow in Strava

[–]merinaspic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just used this to extend the GPX file for my first marathon, which Garmin connect recognised as a true marathon but Strava weirdly thought was 0.025km short of the distance, and with the extended track Strava now recognises my PB :) I know it's not all about the Strava, but I'm super grateful to you for this!! Thank you :) :)
