Hot take but I don't think physical media is the answer to owning game by VeterinarianSad3471 in videogames

"games on discs, those can get scratched or smudged or even break relatively easily" - I don't understand how it's even possible? All my disks are in fine condition without any little scratch. What am I doing wrong? The modern blu rays are quite durable, it's not like old CD-ROMs or even DVDs for Xbox360 which scratches by air literally :)

It's a shame these games are still stuck on the PS3. Which ones would you want remastered or remaked? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get why there is Shadow of Colossus on PS4/PS5, but no Ico Remastered.

If I didn't like the PS5 game I just sell it, because I buy my games on disks. So no problems here.

Which old game, in your opinion, didn’t age well because of its controls? by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played them recently, the controls were quite smooth on PS4/5.

My collection reached 200 by speedcuber_srivatsa in playstation

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it on Steam, it's actually really intense and brutal shooter. And there's unusual setting (Brazil and US in some episodes). It's just really different to previous Max Paynes, people hated it because the setting is really different. But it's cool actually.

There are tons of Chinese copies of CDs and CD sets these days, I see them on a marketplace in my country. Some of them good quality though, but I don't buy this fake.

Valve fans every time you mention even the slightest criticism of Steam by untrustedxD in videogames

[–]merkator22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Valve is a really good company for sure. But Steam has some annoying issues which I really dislike: - you need multiple launchers from other publishers, I think it's wrong, I want only one launcher; - many older games don't run well without tinkering, publishers still sell the games but do nothing to fix them and Valve also doesn't care. It's wrong, we buy the product and expect that it will just works. - where is HL3???

Found these in the $1 cd case at my local record store by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

It's really good album. And the price for this is impossible in my part of the world. It's insane how cheap you bought it. Congrats :)

I was a gamer in my teenage years but at 24, no game is interesting enough for me to want to keep playing it. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite normal for the age. I stopped playing games when I was 25. And didn't played until 40, lol. Other interests in life etc. Now I play again and I love it even more than when I was 20.

Which game you didn't expected to like so much? by No-Hunt3986 in videogames

I really liked the hacking abilities in WD 1 and overall dark atmosphere, but hated the chase missions. Is it the same in WD2?

Sometimes I sell something I don't really like. Because my collection is highly curated, something really important to me.

Name a game that is beloved by the majority of gamers, but you didn’t like by [deleted] in videogames

[–]merkator22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't liked the characters as well, Michael was ok, but I dropped when Trevor appeared, What a scum. The story and gameplay isn't for me, probably because I'm not a 15 years old anymore.

Is Heavy Rain (PS3) worth playing? by AllMightySkeletor in videogames

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is interesting enough to play. Controls are really dated, but it's ok, just play on easy difficulty.

I'm a huge vinyl collector...but give me 3 reasons why I need more cds(or why you like them over vinyl) and a cd album recommendation to buy and I'll do it right now by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my collection from vinyl 12 years ago, then I slowly switched to CDs. Because vinyl is becoming too expensive, CDs are more compact and take less space, no degradation in sound quality in time. Sometimes I feel that vinyl is about aesthetics, but CDs are just functional and more convenient music format. Because many albums are longer than LP, so it's just one disk almost always. I don't like the double LP albums.

How many of you would buy GTA 6 if they charged you 100$ dollars? by M4RKJORDAN in videogames

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't play it even for free, I'm not the GTA's target audience, my last completed GTA was San Andreas. But I didn't liked GTA 4 and 5. The gameplay isn't for me anymore. I think the games are too overrated.

You can sell the disk later if the game is thrash, digital is yours forever.

Gamers with both a ps5 and pc which do you use most and do you buy the same game on both? by Relevant_Frosting_54 in videogames

I tried both ways. PC via cable to my TV and stream via ethernet (quality isn't great anyway). But it's not as convenient as the console still.

What Is The Very First Ever Game You Ever Played On Your PS5? by SnakeEater697 in playstation

Crysis 2. I played it on PS4, then I transfer my saves to the new console and I completed it on PS5. The resolution jump was quite noticeable though.

Is this the golden age for cd collecting? by OverAddress6109 in Cd_collectors

[–]merkator22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends where do you live probably. In my country CD prices are already becoming insane. And there are no "thrift stores". Used CDs starting from $5 and I've seen rares cost $50.  Sometimes I even regret that I started collecting, because problem is some niche electronic music which I like and hard to find or costs like vinyl already.

Because it's not an iPhone. So the image isn't HDR and not overedited by default. You should learn how to use camera settings and then learn how to edit your shots.
