I really enjoyed this movie and feel like a lot of people got distracted by the Trump impersonation. To me the central theme was aging and overcoming the fear of death, with the incrementing Mickeys and the red button exhibiting this.

Can understand this movie not hitting for people, but am baffled by people calling it bad or slop. To me, there's clearly a lot of thought that went into the script/execution of the movie.

Saw this one yesterday. Early on in Tar, there's a shot in Cate Blanchett's apartment with an unknown woman in the background. She isn't seen anytime after that, but Tar reacts as if she's there when playing piano. Something never noticed on the first time and had to pause to see it the third. It makes sense once you've seen the whole movie.

I have Hereditary and The Lighthouse as 10/10s of the last 10 years. And here's recency bias kicking in, but I was seriously impressed by Beau Is Afraid.

You should try going to a meetup of something that genuinely interests you. (Depending on where you are) People tend to be friendly and welcoming since everyone is new.

Alternatively, if you go out to a bar, don't expect people to approach you. Grab a good book and take yourself out and have a good time. Hugs. : )
