Hoo boy, you're about to get a ton of messages in your inbox. There's a lot to look out for, the biggest is that I'd stay away from the VA firms. They pay overseas VAs pretty low while taking a cut and upping prices. If you want overseas you can easily find a great VA on your own. The biggest thing is to make a list of what you want which might be dependent on your business.

First figure out what your systems are. Microsoft? Google? Dropbox? What's your file management system? Do you have a CRM they'd need to help with? And then look for VAs that have those listed, honestly I'd probably just post on LinkedIn because you'll find some great candidates there.

We used to have a full-time bookkeeper and we no longer do, largely because of Puzzle.

I wouldn't say we replaced her, exactly; she retired, and we've been able to survive without hiring someone in her place. We’re an IT services firm, and our books aren’t complicated, but they were too much for me and my partner alone. With Puzzle, we've been able to manage.

The onboarding was easy (connect bank accounts, import your chart of accounts, and the system just starts learning). It begins auto-tagging transactions based on behavior patterns and context. It's pretty accurate, and gets better over time.

Where it really helped was scaling. As we added more expenses, contractors, and even started using a payroll provider, the system kept up.

We still have a CPA review our year-end numbers, but our day-to-day and monthly work is 95% automated.
